Is there a home remedy to treat a dog's Nasal Mites?

in Reverio2 years ago

Personally, I feel that my fellow Hive users are reliable and trustworthy. On top of that, Reverio is a perfect DApp that allows Q&A with ease.

I hope that someone can give me some advice about my dog's condition right now.

She's a 15-year-old Japanese Spitz. The past few days have been difficult for my dog. She's been sneezing even though there are no signs or symptoms that she's having a cold or flu. I tried searching through Google and it seems that she's Nasal Mites. I'm not really sure what caused it or if she got it.

My concern is that it will get worst because of her old age. Another concern is that she sneezed too roughly that she's hurting herself sometimes. I will bring her to the clinic and so I would like to ask for some advice from you guys on how to properly handle her situation.

Is there even a home remedy for this condition?

Should I muzzle her to prevent her from hurting herself?

How to treat nasal mites in dogs at home?

Treatment
  1. Milbemycin oxime (0.5-1.0 mg/kg orally once weekly for 3 consecutive weeks) was highly effective.
  2. Infested dogs also have been treated successfully with ivermectin (200 μg/kg) and Selamectin (3 X 6-24 mg/kg every 14 days).
  3. Imidacloprid/moxidectin is likely to have efficacy.
