I’ll Give You A Hint- It’s Not A Secret!
And you can do it too! Now, I’m not saying that it will be easy. The weight was put on over time and it is going to take time to take off. Sure, you can go to Sono Bello or one of the other “sculpting” places; if you have the money. (I think that’s just cheating yourself.)
But if you don’t, as is in my case, you have to figure out another way to accomplish your goal. I have come up with a plan that, for me, is doing just that.
*Warning: If you try this, please do so under your doctors’ care. Some people may need extra nutrients and may not be able to follow the plan the same way. You will want to modify it to fit your needs.
The Plan
Here is my day to day plan. Modify it to fit your lifestyle and needs.
Jogging 10,000+ steps
When starting out, you may want to just walk. It takes longer to achieve results, but depending on your abilities, you may not be able to jog right away. Just make sure that you get in at least 10,000 steps a day. It took me a few months before I could finally jog the full 10,000.
- Think back to our ancestors - they were always walking or running; that is how they survived. They were hunter/gatherers. In fact, they would have walked/ran more than 10,000 steps per day!
Fasting
This one can be more difficult to do, and if you have health issues, PLEASE consult your doctor before attempting this. Start with fasting for 8 hours a day - this means NO food - only coffee (you can add Stevia), water, bone broth, tea or any other calorie free/ sugar free beverage. Work up to a 24 hour fast once or twice a week.
You want to keep your body guessing as to when it is going to get food again. This is going back to our beginnings - our ancestors weren’t able to simply go to the store to get their next meal - they had to work for it, and sometimes they went for days without eating. They did it, so can you!
*Authors Note: I have also found that on the days when I fast for 8 hours or more, my mind is clearer, I have greater creativity, and my attitude towards life is much more positive
Follow a Keto plan
Cut out carbohydrates and sugar. Eat foods rich in fiber and other nutrients - in other words, natural! Again - our ancestors did not eat things that came out of boxes or cans - everything that they ate came from the earth - plants or animals. There was nothing PROCESSED about their food.
Until modern technology allowed us to be able to manufacture anything and everything, we had to rely on doing things ourselves, which meant that care was taken in the production of food, and it was not mass produced on the scale that it is today.
- If it’s not always possible to eat keto, simply eat less and then do an extra 5000 steps or go for a bike ride, walk, swim, etc. - in other words, work off those extra calories.
Always keep moving
This goes hand in hand with getting 10,000 steps. However, it also means that you are never SITTING for too long. Try to get up and move at least once per hour. You can do this in conjunction with the steps, but don’t stop there.
Example: If you have to go to the store, park as far away from the building as you can - this will not only get you more steps but also allow your body to stretch different muscles.
Do toe touches, side bends, knee lifts; whatever you want to stretch your muscles.
Use Weights
Utilize different items around the house and start training your muscles. You do not need to shell out hundreds of dollars going to a gym, or buying expensive equipment to do this either. You already have plenty of things around your house that you can use to do this. I.E. Soup cans, water bottles, milk jugs; anything that has some weight to it, can be used.
At random times of the day, just pick up something and start lifting it. You don’t need to sit there for hours doing set after set of the same thing, you can just lift one thing 10 times, put it down, and then a few minutes later pick up something else and lift that. Easy peasy.
…
There you have it. This is how I am losing 100 pounds. Now, I’m not there yet - I still have 50 to go- but every day I am seeing results. My clothes fit better, I have more energy, the scale keeps showing a lower number.
I will admit, this process is not easy. There are days when you will want to say ‘screw it’, but that is just your inner demon talking. Anything worthwhile WILL take effort - and this is no exception. But you CAN do it! I have faith in you!
Look, if “I” can do it, so can you! And I know that I WILL do it!
