Joining One BTC Club with Existing Hive Account? Waiting ...

in One Bitcoin Club5 hours ago

No. I have not been able to join the new One Bitcoin Club community with my existing Hive account. After experiencing repeated failures, I am still waiting for the issues encountered to be addressed.

comment was quickly turning into a post. So, I decided to respond in that way. It seemed best, as well as having (my impression anyway) the endorsementWhat began as a response to @breakaway-dev's of a seasoned veteran, @ecoinstant.

I will write this, in hopes of helping this developer work through whatever issues remain to be resolved. Hopefully, it will also provide some benefit to anyone else experiencing similar problems, as they attempt to join this new community.

UX - User
Experience
, Round 2

From my own experience base, I have a good grasp of the vital importance of sequence, when it comes to writing the code behind whatever the user encounters when they attempt to run it. With bits and pieces of the issues I have personally encountered spread through too many posts and comments, I will pull it all together here.

By doing that, in the sequence in which I experienced each, I will hope to have provided an all-in-one-place reference to whatever continuous improvement efforts are made to resolve them.

Sequence:

  1. Following the "Add Btc Profile" link, I provided my existing Hive account, successfully connected my Xverse wallet and executed "Sign Message, then clicked on "Connect to Hive Account". This is what appeared:

  2. Clicking on "OK," in spite of this code 500 "failure", I still saw this come up:

  3. And then, upon confirming, I got this "confirmation:"

Source: "Success" resulting in this Hive transaction.

  4. With this "success," opened One Bitcoin Club, clicked on "Login," then "Login with keychain," and entered my Hive account name. Which resulted once again, in this:

Yes, @breakaway-dev, in spite of my time constraints and no indication from your comment that anything had changed, I still tried again. As the date and timestamp on my Hive transaction will confirm.

comment to me, which contained a link to his 2nd video. In it, he illustrates his success in linking his existing account to this community. Before closing, I want to be sure and give a shout out to @neopch, for his

For me, this is what extending a helping hand in these online communities is all about. 🤝

TLDNR Update: Currently, via the "Add Btc Profile" option, some existing Hive accounts can join the One Bitcoin Community. Others, as detailed above, cannot.

Waiting
patiently
...

As stated in my original post, I will patiently look forward to the day when the original vision behind building this new community comes more sharply into focus.

Presumably, it goes without saying that I believe there is an attractive potential, in the future of the One Bitcoin Club community here on the Hive blockchain. Just in case, I have written it again.

And invested my time in doing my small part to bring it about.

  • Until that day arrives, this post was written and will be published with the PeakD UI.

With this response to your comment now written, @breakaway-dev, I will wait patiently for your response. In spite of my best efforts, if there is anything you believe is still missing, please let me know what else I can do to help you help me (other existing Hive accounts).

This is likely the last post I will be publishing to this new community, until such time as I can write one, as a successfully joined member of it. At which point, my committed 10,000 BTC Sats will be added to and put to work.

All questions, comments, or concerns are welcome.

Best wishes, until we meet again,
QT

Yes I was just going to say, I am editing video of the tech demo interview with @starkerz and he definitely shows how to link existing HIVE account now - whether this is "your fault", is probably not a question we need to answer; but I think what you spoke into the universe now exists!

I think we need comment from @breakaway-dev

Several others have been able to add their BTC wallets to their existing hive accounts.

It may be that @quark.top is using a new browser to which he has newly added Xverse and Keychain.

If this is the case, (a typical issue i faced) is that he will need to refresh his chrome browser to make sure it knows that keychain and xverse are pinned properly (we will fix this in time by having a "I have pinned Keychain" button that when you click it, it refreshes the page.

Many of the errors that pop up are bugs and are not valid also. they are being worked on.

Also, your BTC wllet has been added to your Hive profile @quark.top and many of your posts are showing on the breakaway community front end for onebitcoinclub.org:

Thank you for your prompt response, @starkerz. It is certainly interesting to see it appears you are able to pull up my posts inside the UI for the One BTC Club.

    • While I did not mention it in my post, I had seen earlier than my account is listed under "Members," when I go to the website myself. I assumed, since the list has the exact same number as subscribers on the community webpage I see via PeakD, that this was simply showing that:

I will point out, though, that the BTC balance showing is incorrect, even though it is showing the correct BTC address:

wallet address for the One BTC Club

This additional bit of info may, perhaps, be another clue as to what I am up against.

I will also point I was an early adopter of the Brave browser and have used it successfully for years. With a number of different Chrome extensions added to it. As can be seen above, setting up the Xverse wallet went just fine, as far as anything I experienced. And I have had no other problem with Hive keychain.

As you rightly say, we'll need to see what @breakaway-dev has to say, from here. Hopefully this post and these comments will help.

Thank you for your prompt response, @ecoinstant. I will respond separately to the timely follow-up response from @starkerz's message below.

As for this:

"... whether this is "your fault", is probably not a question we need to answer ..."

It matters to me little to not at all, how others characterize what I have repeatedly attempted to do, up until now. Other than to acknowledge I have clearly put a lot into these efforts.

I am not newbie, when it comes to computers. And I have done my best to capture, in considerable detail, what I would like to know myself, if I was being asked to help someone else, in a similar situation.

As I say at the end, if there is anything else I can do, please let me know.
