I have successfully set up a new wallet in XVerse, transferred 10K Sats into it (2X the minimum?) and successfully linked this address to my Hive account:

Source: Success resulting in this Hive transaction
In spite of that, I still get the exact same error message above. What exactly does "User data could not be fetched" mean then? What else is needed?
@starkerz, @thecrazygm, @ecoinstant: Any help would be much appreciated! I am very interested in participating in this community.
P.S. Yes, from my reading of content on the newbies-guide account, I do understand that tagging other accounts is frowned upon. Hopefully, this will be considered a reasonable exception. If not, please advise on a better solution. Thanks!
"mass tagging" can be a redflag, but hey help me with this specific thing, is probably okay. The real issue is that I don't always see the pings, as they get mixed in with the votes sometimes.
This is all very new - so its possible that there is something to be fixed. But my first overview is that - "the possibility to list already existing HIVE accounts is not currently implemented, and that's why it works right now with a new HIVE account".
The goal with this tech stack is to onboard bitcoinners. It seems like you are onboarding at the similar time, have a very new HIVE account. I have 100 hive accounts now, and so maybe next week or next year you wouldn't mind an alt, but I can definitely appreciate how "I am not ready for another account yet".
Please keep participating tho - generally, just by doing, you learn. And by learning, you can earn!
new account!Thank you for this input, @ecoinstant. Looking through it again, I can see you are almost certainly right. And, yes, you did tell me that in the first place - create a
My time constraints make that a very unattractive option. I could say more, but I won't belabor the point.
As stated above, I do now have a wallet with 10,000 Sats in it, set up for the express purpose of joining this community. FWIW, I have considerably more than that to put in there, if there is ever a future option of joining it with my existing account.
For now, maybe I will write a post about my experience in attempting to set this up. In it, I can show why I went the direction I did. If nothing else, perhaps it will provide the devs behind this community with some useful input for their consideration, in making improvements.
I am almost certain we will work that angle after we get the "onboarding" worked out, its just a reality of the internet, everyone is hot for "new" users right now.
oh and - yes! always "write a post" about it!
Problem or Opportunity? MVP and Joining the One BTC Club" post has now been published.Yes, it took me some time, @ecoinstant, but I have now done exactly that - my "
I have replied separately to @breakaway-dev's comment, as it reinforced for me why I took the time to even attempt to set up an existing account here, in the first place. My post details why that does not work. At least it did not for me.
If there is anything else I can do on my side, to help anyone working on solving this current challenge, please let me know.
Hi, there is a tab on the navbar that says
Add btc profile
, maybe that is not clear enough, we will update the text to saylink exixting hive account
. So there you can link your existing hive account, please try that and lt me know your experience. Thankspost on exactly this yesterday, in response to this commentIt was interesting to find the timing on your comment, @breakaway-dev. Finishing up my from @ecoinstant, it has now been published.
If you will glance through it, I had precisely this thought on trying to overcome my initial problem with attempting to join the One BTC Club community. It does not work.
At least it did not work for me. I would appreciate any help you are able to provide me. If I can do anything else on my side, please let me know.
