At a time like this?....
It seems a number of homesteaders and other people are working on moving right about now. Of course everyone's situation is different, as is their point of view. In this video, I share some of my thoughts about what people should consider if they are contemplating moving. Hope it's some worthwhile food for thought for some of you out there. Enjoy!

I had no doubt that you were going to stay! I have watched you and your little Peppers grow and flourish learning and teaching and building a life there.
What you say makes sense and we have an alternate house that has the capability of being sustainable, but, hasn't pulled the trigger on moving there as a permanent thing. I haven't decided which house is better, but, honestly, this has become too close to Washington, DC for me. (I work there)
So, lots of thoughts going on, but, in the end, I feel like I am not doing myself any favors staying. Thanks for the nudge and good luck to you!
I know different times in life have different circumstances and what is right for one period of time, may not be right for another..... so circumstances always count.
I didn't believe you were going to say you would move. You have too many good things going and the investment in your future will surely pay off.
It is true we never know what we will face tomorrow. Who could have imagined this pandemic and all the changes it would cause? Not the average person I don't think.
We really should have never gotten away from this cleaner type of living. Our food chain through the groceries stores are a mess !
I know it's very hard work, but I still think you have the right idea.
Now is the time to start planning your house to be built in stages.
First question, is your trailer in the place where you would want to build a house?
Are you finding your trailer in the ideal spot on your property?
For sun, wind, snow, rain?
I can see you are going to need more bedrooms soon.
So let me talk you through building a house in stages.
Cryptos will be way up this year, so it is a good time to trade them for building materials.
I was so surprised when you said "Should we sell our property" because I have watched you guys put so much into this wonderful place you guys have build and your kids love it, especially during this time.
I'm glad you are not thinking of selling it and starting new, because like you said I also don't think it would be a good idea.
I personally think, you guys are at the perfect place, especially right now.

Sure are troubling times to say the least.. I thought you moving to Missouri was just for a situation like we may be going to go into. You are in a good place..compared to most people.. Most are living paycheck to paycheck with loans to pay.
Where would you go? Texas? .. builderofcastles makes some good points ..Cities will get crazy.. Moving south another good idea.. But being around like minded people and family is paramount.. Hang in there you got a gold mine of a homestead..
