My man and I did our first house-sit about three years ago in Bulgaria. It was great and really saved us back then! We ended up staying there for 10 months, had our first experiences with off-grid living and growing food in the garden. Since then we had a few gigs and a new one is coming up in a few weeks.
It has always been a great opportunity to get out of the van for a while, to enjoy having some more space, a proper kitchen and a hot shower, while also helping people out. We definitely learned a lot along the way, had experiences that we wouldn’t have had otherwise. I wouldn’t want to miss one of them, not even the challenging ones.
But I also really hope, this upcoming house-sit will be our last one.

As great as it is, with every gig I realize more and more how much I long to have my own place.
When I live in another one’s home I basically live their life. I live by their rules, I take care of the things that they chose to have. I live the way they chose for themselves.
And of course this can never be exactly the way I would choose to live, because we’re all different.
It’s great to learn from other people, how they solve problems, how they take care of their garden, house and animals. Especially from people that chose a life that’s close to how I want to live, like the two we’ll be house-sitting for in a few weeks.
But still … it’s not my life.
It’s not my home.
I’m ready now to live by my own rules. I’ve grown enough to feel confident and able to take care of my own place.
I'm ready for the next step, the new challenge, whatever it might look like.
I’m finally ready to be an adult, I guess ^^

Thanks a lot! I will 🤗 It’s gonna be the most beautiful home I can imagine!
Good luck with touchwood your last house sit!
Popped in from dreemport tonight #dreemerforlife
Thank you very much!
What is dreemport?
This is nice.
It awesome to leave by one's rules.
It sure is. Most of my life is in my own hands already, which is great. It's just the house-thing right now ^^
As we grow we gain experiences that do help us to navigate through life. I hope what you wish for come to pass.
Thank you so much! I feel like so many people are helping me manifest right now, so I'm very confident 😊🙏
You're very welcome. We all need people at some point in our lives
Thank you for sharing❤️ i'm a wanderer myself and often I don't stay too long in one place cause it felt like i'm being caged and i would want something new and different again. but i do have a home- my parents home that I can always go back to when i feel like i have to settle down for a while. wishing you on well on your journey. hope you find (or build) that place that you can finally call your own.
Thank you for your good wishes, always appreciated 😊
I feel my days as a wanderer are coming to an end (for now), it’s been quite a while, even before the van.
I love traveling and seeing new places, and I‘m looking forward to enjoying it again when I have a home to come back to after an adventure.
So good you have your parents house as a home still! It was the same for me when I was younger, my parents always welcomed me when I had to rest ❤️
Now that it is time for you to have your own home, it will surely happen for you. I believe the years of house-sitting for others have been a kind of preparation for the present time. Wishing you all the best.

That's what I feel as well. All those experiences have shown me how I want to live. I learned what I like about other peoples homes and what I would do differently in my own.
Thanks for helping me to manifest 😊
Ps: what’s that hashtag about? Makes me curious

That's exciting and a big moment to have! Do you also know where you are going to settle or is that still unclear?
It's not exactly the same but when we left our country, we had three Workaway addresses and we both keep saying that everyone should experience this at least once in their life because it enriches your life so much. If only I'd known this while being younger, I'd probably have tons of experiences like that. I would not have want to miss it for the world and we still look back on those 4,5 months as one of the best things we ever did.
We didn't know where we'd end up leaving our country to our first workaway host in Spain either. So it was a huge adventure :)
I hope you find your own home very soon!
Thank you for your good wishes, it’s very appreciated!
We’re still looking in Albania, this country won’t let us leave yet. We’ll see if it’s meant to happen.
Workaway is such a good thing! I would recommend it to everyone who wants to make new experiences.
Did you do workaway with your daughter or was it before she joined you?
I still don’t know which country you’re from originally, just noticed. Would you mind telling? I’m just curious :)
Ha, nevermind. Just remembered I had asked you already ages ago 😅😂
