I never used to be much of a reader although have found that's changed over time; people change in their lives, influences occur, and I'm really glad I've found a passion for reading which I credit to my guy. I have to be really into the books I read, feel passionate about them, otherwise I start them and struggle to pick them up again when something else gets in the way. If I'm fully engaged with a book I'll make time and that's the difference between loving a book and reading because I have to.
Finding time to read is always my problem because I work and sleep like everyone else then, in between that, have so many other things to attend to. Again, I'm just like everyone else in that life gets busy and I'm not complaining because my life is really nice, but I wish I had more time to read.

I'm off work currently, a few weeks that I can mostly call my own and without the need to go from one thing to another with structure. It's given me the time to sit for longer periods with my book and I've just finished one and begun another.
I'm currently reading Good Material by Dolly Alderton which is about a thirty-something man (a comedian) in London who has had a recent break up and how he deals with it including awkward dates, his friends group and other such things; I'm not far into it yet but it's really enjoyable and the characters seem to leap off the pages.
I'm lucky that my man is an avid reader because we make the time together although he mostly reads different things than I do; that's ok though, we talk about our books and those conversations are enjoyable, extending the enjoyment of the book itself. I told him about my new book and suggested he read it thinking that he'd enjoy it. He was dubious about my "girlie book" but as I expected he would has said he'd read it. See how persuasive I can be?
Reading is a large part of my life and one of my big enjoyments which is probably due to the fact my boy and I often read together; it's a quiet time, maybe some music in the background, tea or coffee and a cupcake maybe, and out cat sitting on my lap. This, and a few other relaxing things, is what I hope to do a lot of in the next few weeks.
I used to read a lot, various things.
Now I rarely read a book, although I have a couple of things I've had here a while, but never sat down too. I pictured I would give time back to it more this winter, put a burning fireplace on the big TV (it's not huge, but it looks like it in the size of my living room).....burn the fireplace candle, a little very, very soft music in the background and read, read, read! That hasn't happened once yet. Most of the time I spend that down time piddling around at my art table making a mess or cleaning one up. LOL, but maybe now that I am thinking on it again, I'll be more determined to make it happen.
Used too if I was into a book, I couldn't put it down, putting off other things including sleep as I would tell myself I was only going to read for 15 more minutes... then 15 more.... and.... well, you know, till halfway through the night.
Oh! ...and I love that song.
It's a very lovely song; I love the artist actually, her music touches me.
I like the reading environment you mentioned, I don't have a fireplace so would need the TV version also. As for the art, I think it would have the same or similar effect as reading would so it sounds like a valuable pursuit.

I have a firestick on my TV and am able to get fireplaces there at no extra cost and also through my firestick I can get youtube where there are more. They are close up, so that all you see mostly is the burning wood. Some are better than others for sure.
I listen to music through my Alexa when I work and I made myself a note yesterday to ask her to play songs by Dido. I am familiar with her from the past, but had not thought about her. She also reminded me a little bit of Jewel, who I also added to the list for today. It will be fun to listen to them for a while as I work.
Over time my taste in reading has changed a lot, when I was a teenager I read novels, thrillers, and related subjects. Today I am more inclined towards other types of reading, I have even read a bit of quantum physics, applied to everyday life. But I've also had times when I've been able to read less due to work.
I'm glad that at this moment you have that time and enjoy it so much, reading is beautiful.
By the way, I have loved the song for many years.
Hugs Becca.💗
Quantum physics? Incredible. I don't know what it is and I think it'd put me to sleep pretty quickly if I read about it, but we all have our own individual interests.

Yes, but applied to everyday life, it's a bit complicated at first but I liked it. I read a bit of everything, sometimes out of the traditional.
Hope you are having a good day!💗
