You've said it right... Christmas is a time where we can take a step back, we can contemplate where we find ourselves and reconnect with friends and family or at least send some warm thoughts their way. It is simply a time to get in touch as a mean that they are part of our world, of our growth and a mean of love and care in the end.
That's a very nice way to see (and celebrate) Christmas.
