I was staring at the grayish, or you could say bluish turning grey, sky as I reflected on where I've spent my time in the past months.
It's been quite a journey as I explored the realm of romance. I'm turning 29 next year, and you could say that I felt pressured by life and somehow longed to feel wanted. I yearned for love and intimacy, so I took a leap of faith and tried online dating. However, it didn't turn out well when engaging with people online.
I can't believe I've experienced getting ghosted, being turned down, and eventually losing all interest in having someone, or being intimate with someone, as it feels really unnecessary. I completely lost all hope that someday, I'd find the love I deserve.
But what truly defined my entire online dating journey was a guy hidden behind the pen name 'Ern'. He was so genuine that after talking to him for three months, he became my standard.
I realized that I like a person who, despite all the odds and situations, keeps moving forward. You could say he is visionary and aims to go beyond his limits. He has goals and is family-oriented.
This online dating journey might never turned out well with me but at the very least, I've discovered and stablish a set of standard I'm looking for a partner.
I've learned that I value authenticity, resilience, and a shared vision for the future. While 'Ern' may not have been the one, he set a standard for the kind of connection I want to find in the future.
In the end, the search for love and connection continues, but now I embark on it with a better sense of self, a greater appreciation for genuine connections, and knowledge to know when its time to move on
Online dating may have its ups and downs, but it's just one chapter in the ongoing story of my life, and I'm eager to see what the future holds as I journey towards my 29th year with newfound clarity and purpose
