RE: It's My Birthday・Some Thoughts & A Birthday Giveaway

in Reflections2 years ago

Happy birthday! I hope you didn’t get hurt doing whatever it was your kids had planned.😉

I definitely feel older now in my body since passing 40. Running and playing tag with my kids and their friends, and trying to keep up on the soccer field just isn’t the same as it was three or four years ago.

But maybe that’s because during Corona I fell out of a regular exercise routine.

I’ll take the books over the movies any day. I wasn’t a fan of the movies, but I think that’s the type of thing where you fall in love with whichever it is you encountered first. In that case, though I haven’t seen them in years, I might pick the animated version that I remember seeing some time in the 80s.

I hear you. I think it was the same for me... I fell out of shape during Corona. I'm slowly getting back into it and still trying to shed the extra weight I gained.

You echo my feelings. I honestly didn't really care for the movies. I never say that too loud because they are very beloved by many people, but besides the absolutely perfect casting of Ian McKellen as Gandalf and Ian Holm as Bilbo, I just didn't like them all that much. The books all the way for me. heh but yeah, I have some good memories of the animated version. I haven't watched those since I was a kid.
