RE: Got My Shit Together...

I'm glad to hear you are doing better. That's a very noble cause to want to help your fellow veterans. My dad has never applied for VA benefits. I think he has heard all the horror stories and he isn't able to look past that. He also feels like he doesn't deserve it. He feels like there are others who need it more. My father in law was the same way for a long time too. He finally signed up several years ago.

Thanks @bozz. Good to see ya. The VA can be a pain to deal with sometimes, but there is a method to the madness. Once you figure out the method, it is easier to navigate and get through. As far as deserving, they served honorably, then they earned those benefits.

That definitely sounds like a good path for you. Helping people navigate that madness and dispelling some of the myths could go a long way towards helping others and giving you some fulfillment as well.

Yeah, I have to look into if there is a certification I need to get. I know VSOs have to be certified. I will get up with my American Legion or VFW and see what they say. They usually have a person or two that helps with that type of thing as well. I might be able to assist through them.
Stay well friend.

Thank you! You too!
