Greetings to y'all. The weekend is over and I am happy to come to this community to talk about my little reflections of the week. Surely you will wonder why I chose such a curious photo as a presentation for the post, but I will justify that only at the end 😉.
I already made a post talking about how much I learned in the month of February and which you can access by clicking here. In order not to repeat myself, I'd better tell you a story that provoked various sensations in me.
Someone said to me this week, "Why aren't you writing?"This friend knows me because I write poems, and his question shocked me. He told me that he saw me wasting my time instead of writing and finishing submitting a book to a publisher. I told him that it wasn't like that, that I was writing. That I have not submitted a book because the things I had written before did not convince me as an aesthetic line and that now, with a new breath, I feel that I am being more sincere with my writings.
The point is that, according to him, he could have already finished several books, and that for him he was being very lazy and passive with creation. From there I drew several conclusions.
I know that none of his inquisitions came out of aggression, but from the love and affection he feels for me, and that he wants to see me succeed (because maybe he feels that I have the potential for it). On the other hand, he is a benchmark of super productivity. He is a person who dedicates himself to several jobs and has managed to establish schedules in which he can dedicate and focus time correctly towards the things he wants.
The answer is that I am not like him. I can't write poems quickly, because it's an exercise that requires a lot of energy and can drain you emotionally. I prefer to take my time to reflect on what I am going to translate into my texts. Meanwhile, I dedicate myself to living life, and to drinking from sources that can serve me to feed my soul.
It is no less true that sometimes I really waste my time procrastinating and performing tasks that are not aligned with my purpose. For that reason I thank him, for being a reminder that I can be better. I'm still working on being more organized in this aspect and I'm glad to have a friend like him who knows how to scold me with the best of intentions.
What I do know is that this is a process, that I can't rush it, nor can I waste it. I am not behind with respect to anything or anyone, I am doing the right thing according to where I am. This is the reason why I wanted to start the post with the photo of a plant that is just hatching. She is at the base of a trunk that is already many years old, and that's not why she goes crazy trying to grow up. It takes advantage of the water and the sun of its surroundings to gradually develop. Today I identify with this plant (and I hope you do too).
