I think it’s really important that we get devices like a Mic Lock for our phones and computers. They essentially put an open connection like a headphone plug with a cut wire instead of headphones, into the outlet of the phone or computer or TV. This locks the microphone and prevents the listening from happening in the first place.

These and many others are simple steps that we can take to improve our digital privacy especially with the increases in AI that have been unfolding. They no longer need to pay people to analyze data, it just does it automatically and then flags things. It might not be as operational as we fear right now, but in 3-4 years I doubt we will be able to say that.

Fun things like this keep me up at night :D but the important thing to know is that a lot more people are aware of this shit and working to fight it back so that’s the really important part.

It's good that there are those who are trying to fight back against this sort of thing. I really think eventually it will be a losing battle, but that doesn't mean we should stop trying.
