Balancing out the Chaos with the Fun

in Reflections2 months ago (edited)

Amongst all the chaos, as mentioned in @clareartista 's and my recent sharings, a lot of beautiful and enjoyable moments are happening too.

I like to think that the world is actually very balanced. Otherwise it would have been falling off its axis and moving through space like a snowball rolling down a hill, growing bigger and bigger and eventually leading to disaster.

Not the best metaphor but I'm sure you get the point

Things are always balanced out ( plus I am a Libra, born on 10-10, so I can't help but look for balance/equilibrium in everything ) and we navigate from contrast.

You need to experience what doesn't feel good to know what you do want/like and it's fair to say that - these days - Clare and I are going through a lot of chaos ( like the world in general ).

In between all the feeling and talking and overthinking and - sometimes - underthinking, we are having a lot of little and sometimes bigger lovely moments, both together and apart.

Both of us have spent so much time by ourselves, in our lives, that living together with a soulmate is quite the contrast. In fact, pretty much a 360 compared to our lives until 2 and a half months ago ( before we first met face to face, in Napoli, Italy ).

At the same time, we have worked loads on ourselves in the times we were 'alone' and know how to enjoy ourselves. It also helps to have a good sense of humor. Just listening to your thoughts with a virtual bag of popcorn can be quite entertaining. Not that I do that often haha!

Anyhow, I could make this a super lengthy post but I basically wanted to keep the flow going ( of a daily post ), as long as I can without it feeling forced.

I am typing this, sitting at the kitchen table with my good friend Daniel who is working behind his laptop on the other side of the table. We are drinking tea and listening to music together.

This is me, not Daniel ;<)

After finishing this write up, I will get some more groceries in the village here, before I head home to the lovely Clare, to have dinner with her and enjoy a calm evening together.

No matter how much we like our own space, I must say that the moments together, after having been apart, even if it's only for a couple of hours, are extra enjoyable.

On the picture above this post you see Clare thinking of the next word to play on the Scrabble board, while the two of us were enjoying a nice lunch in a restaurant in the hamlet where I bought (and later sold) my first house, back in 2018: a place called Monte Frio ( cold mountain ). The restaurant recently re-opened, after having been closed for years and seemed to be doing well enough.

It was fun to spend a couple of hours there and also quite nostalgic, as it's where I ended up, after I had left my mother-/ fatherland ( The Netherlands ) behind, feeling like I didn't belong there and there was no future for me.

I lived in Monte Frio for two to three years, before it became too depressing ( thanks to the plandemic ) and now, five temporary houses later, I am living together with Clare.

She had been looking forward to see the place that I had talked about fondly for years and this happened last Monday.

We eventually planned to go for a walk in the forest near Monte Frio or to go to a beautiful waterfall nearby, but ended up sitting in the restaurant for an hour and a half, playing scrabble and going for a short walk through the village and past my 'old' house, as well as being invited in by an elderly couple that I used to be friendly with and vice versa, who wanted to show us their new (Alojamento Local (Airbnb) rooms in a building situated right next to their house.

I almost talked Clare into spending the night there, partially because we like to live spontaneously/in the moment and also because Bitcoin is doing amazingly these days but we eventually decided to head home again and sleep in our own (temporary) bed.

We do have to save some (digital) money to invest in our future land and house and can't just spend all the time, no matter how good it feels to finally be able to do so after having been stuck in poverty mindset for quite some time. It's not it has not always been easy to be a creative and that's an understatement.

Here's one more pic from MF, a mountain hamlet 700 meters above sea level. I used to see that tree from my balcony.

Have a lovely day, wherever you are!
