RE: BLOG 21: Reflection: How the Holiday feels Different Now

in Reflectionsyesterday

Thanks for sharing your fam pics. Memories are priceless!

Your post reminds me of something I found on Facebook that goes something like...

Christmas wasn't better years ago. You still find the same joy in kids' faces when they unwrap gifts and celebrate Christmas. It's you who has changed.

Just a few days ago I went to meet my nephew and nieces. Gift-giving was a lot easier years ago when their eyes would glow in the sight of toys or taking them to a carnival.

As they got older, I had to start handing money. But when they started to have jobs, I feel embarrassed reaching into my pocket for whatever spare riches I got.

As we get older we become less attentive to life's simple joys. It's becoming difficult for the older ones to make us happy, and much more difficult for us to spark joy in the simplest things.

Sort:

Exactly. That's why we missed the feeling being a kid. Our simple smiles already brought a huge impact. Gladly, we can still reflect how Christmas affects to us everytime we grow up😍
