Hello, my dear Hivers! Here I am again for another blog content. How have you been doing these days? I hope you are all doing well. As your fellow Hivers, I'm here to remind you that if your February entry is giving you much pressure to push harder, I hope you realize the value of slowing down. It's okay to pause sometimes as there's no need to rush things. Anyway, the blog that I'm going to share today is somehow a reflection and at the same time a special visit to one of the most amazing places here in Cebu. Should we get started?
I have been feeling heavy in the past days, probably because of pre-graduation anxiety. It's hounding me most of the time to the extent that it voids all the positivity I've reserved inside. I know I'm not alone because most graduating students also suffer this kind of anxiety as we are nearing the end of our student life—the real world is waiting. It is just that I hate it when I have to fight against an intangible enemy but sometimes it challenges me to rise from my weakness and be that brave girl who can't be defeated by an invisible.
To ease from the heaviness, I knew I needed something more than just motivational advice—I had to let my mind wander somewhere. I figured, how about taking a stroll? Indeed, I decided to take a stroll at Plaza Independencia. It's one of the most amazing sites that you can visit here in Cebu City, Philippines. As you can notice, the cloud was gloomy. I went there early in the morning, so it's not jam-packed with people yet. As I walked around the place, I captured significant areas I found and made a similar reflection I had in my recent situation.
1. Commitment hits different.
Watching these people doing their routine made me realize how someone can be so committed at something. Not all people have a strong commitment to wake up so early and have that early jog—the same way they witness the sun rise. Personally, I tend to be committed as well. It may be in the aspect of responsibilities, tasks and even set goals. But along the process, distractions sometimes divert me from what I initially had committed myself with. To be honest, it's not easy to fight those distractions but reminding myself of the WHY am I doing such things makes me stay focused.
2. You bloom beautifully if you are in the right place.
Like flowers, we bloom and grow if we are in the right environment. You can't expect yourself to be an optimistic person if you surround yourself with negative/toxic people. The same way, if you surround yourself with aimless folks, would you expect yourself to have a mindset of determination? Your environment influences you. So, guys I'm telling you, be brave enough to leave if the environment is no longer healthy for you. Be brave enough to choose what's best for yourself.
3. There's no harm in wishes but it should be accompanied with action.
We all have wishes, I do have mine too. Wishing well has heard those as I am very vocal of even whispering them to the wind. But then again...is verbalizing it enough to make it happen? In the modern world, it will never be enough. Verbalizing one's wishes makes it powerful but action will help it turn into reality. With that being said, I hope we realize to not let ourselves stuck in our own wishes forever. Our actions matter no matter how small or little it is.
4. Keep moving.
I do remember the quote from Albert Einstein that says Life is just like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving. I definitely agree with this as in life, there's no guarantee that the path we are going to take is always linear. Bumpy and uncharted roads are meant to be travelled by us. But as long as we keep going no matter the uncertainties, as long as we learn to stand up despite how many falls we had and as long as we embody the spirit of courage to continue failures after failures— in the end, life will reward us.
5. Be gentle.
Just like a butterfly, it undergoes a process/cycle before we see them as beautifully grown creatures. It reminds us all that growth takes time. But sometimes we tend to be impatient. Am I not just the only one who's guilty with this? If we are on the verge of this feeling— may we not get tired to catch ourselves and say It's okay we just need to be gentle with ourselves. We'll eventually get tired if we keep expecting things to happen immediately.
That ends my short stroll-flection at Plaza Independencia. I would say it's not just a well-known site for tourists but it's also a special place that witnessed most of the park-goers' hidden emotions. The reflective stroll slowly healed me and it made me realize that there's more to life than to dwell so much with the sadness and toxicity of the world.
That's what I've got for today, my dear Hivers! I hope I've touched you all with my recent reflection and hopefully we shared the same sentiments as well. A big virtual hug to you all! See you on my next blog!
Time is flying too fast and I'll be a senior high school student for the next few months and I'm not ready yet, I'm scared and nervous for what's coming for me but seeing you walking and taking a break at the plaza made me realize that it's okay to be scared and nervous sometimes, we just have to relax ourselves and accept the future! Thank you for the inspiration ❤️
It's really scary and nervous when we think of our next step but I guess the feelings we have are valid as it only proves that we care where our life is going. Keep pushing @cheeryprincess ! You got this!
Thank you so much for the motivation @maryjolly! ❤️
Life is really hard, there are many challenges that we have to face but I also believe that God has a purpose why does he allow those challenges in our life
I do agree @queeniemary . Sometimes it's so hard to accept why but we just have to understand that maybe it's part of His plan.
I am praying for your po

I certainly agree to #4. We must always keep on moving! No matter what life throws at us, it is important to not get stuck and always move forward because life does not travel backwards. What a productive walk you had!☺︎♡
I couldn't agree more, @heyitsjian ! Life doesn't wait for us. At the end of the day, we have to decide for ourselves— whether to get stuck or move forward. The decision lies within us.
I've never been to plaza independencia recently. Thank you for sharing.
