RE: The helping hand

in Reflectionslast year

Hello G,

I find it very difficult to ask for help for myself. However, I am able to ask for help for someone else and I even stop doing my own things to help someone else myself.
When I feel that I have been helpful in some way I find it very satisfying and feel that I lived a meaningful day.

Good thing you are helping your friends hahaha...clueless, this is funny to me.

A hug!

I think helping others sort of earns us credit (value) even if it's just personal satisfaction and a good feeling...that feeling tends to permeate other aspects of our lives also; so helping others seems like a very good idea to me.

👍

(On the other hand, I don't like to say that I helped someone, I just do it and that's it. In fact, I do it almost every day and no one notices. It is a satisfaction that I keep for myself.)

It seems to be the common thing for people to brag about what they do for others and I think social media has helped push that along; it's sad really, to think that a person may help someone else, or pretend to, just so that they have the chance to self-promote on social media or to those around them. I believe genuine generosity doesn't need a voice.

Yep, the self satisfaction is the reward.
