Introvert Talks - Putting Health First

"Introvert Talks" is meant to be a new initiative or theme, where I myself as an introvert, just talk about reflections and thoughts about my life, or maybe share more personal stuff. :)

This is my weekly post under this "Introvert Talks" theme and let's see where it takes me and us.

For quite some time, I had some discomfort in a part of my body which I should not disclose (just for personal privacy reasons), so a few months ago, I decided to see a doctor and seek medical advice. The doctor referred me to a specialist and I went for the appointment recently.

Long story short, I went through some tests and fortunately, everything looked fine/normal. But to be sure, the specialist scheduled further tests in the coming months for me as well.

I don't know about you, but for me, it's always kind of scary to go for health checkups or any form of health related tests, because you can feel absolutely okay but you aren't sure what the test results will be. But on the other hand, I still think it's a good thing to undergo checks because if there's anything serious, early detection would always be good.

Anyway, while it was a relief for me that day, it also dawned upon me that it's also time to put a little more effort to take care of my own health. As we grow older by the days and years, it's inevitably our body will start to have more problems, but if we take care of ourselves better, perhaps we can delay or reduce some of the health issues.

I mean, I haven't been living unhealthily. My current BMI is 23 and I think that's roughly average? But that's always room for improvement. I could still cut down on oily food, sugary drinks, and spend a little more time on exercising, and make my tummy smaller. So I think I will try to make it a conscious effort to do so, starting from today.

It's not going to be easy, I know. But I am going to try my best.

One obstacle that first came to my mind would be my lack of "excess time". As some of you might know, my schedules are packed to the brim and if I want to spend more exercising, then I need to reprioritise some of my existing activities, or manage/optimise my existing time better. The hard reality is it is harder to "sacrifice" my sleep time and working hours, so I would have to free up time from my hobbies, which unfortunately includes the time I spent on Hive. Does it mean I won't be able to post as much? We will see. But I think I am quite determined to putting my health first.

Wish me luck! Keep calm and gym on! Here we go! 💪💪💪

It's good that you were able to check your health through medical checkups. Early diagnosis can help avoid major health problems in the future.

Yeah that's right. Thanks for dropping by!
