RE: Tears of a Forgotten Child

who is super-excited to hopefully soon get ADHD diagnoses for her two children (8 and 5), so she can put them on medication

So I'm going to be super judgey here as well especially we only have your casual description to go by but...seriously? Just to be able to put them on meds? Not so everyone including them have a better idea of how and why they think/act the way they do to be able to make adjustments into how to explain things to be able to better moderate/regulate their thoughts/feelings/behaviours or to improve information uptake through more appropriate learning styles?

I just finished my coffee but I think I need another one.

I don't have anything against adhd meds, they're great when they're needed/wanted by the person who's using them

I wish that more of school was dedicated to how to learn rather than what to learn

Same, and also one of the reasons we decided to homeschool. I think a lot more learning would get done but it would probably be harder to manage in a heavily structured environment and also very difficult when people just want monkey brain happy when number go up.
