Seeing Trump lie on TV all the time in USA and hear him call Zelensky a dictator, while cozying up to a 25-year ruler of Russia where elections are a complete sham is just business as usual for Trump. What do you expect from 50%+ of the population in USA that elected a convicted criminal? They are going to stick with Trump even if he really does shoot someone in broad daylight on a busy street. I am sure it will be portrayed that he did that while performing his presidential duties and our Supreme Court already gave him an immunity for that.
And yes he is rewriting history, in three days it will be exactly 3 years since Russia invaded Ukraine with a 100 thousand plus army and started a full scale war that is going on for three years now, but Trump says it is Ukraine started the war and our 50% of the population do believe him...
Does the average American really believe it though, or are they just going along with it because they have backed Trump prior? I think a lot of his power comes from people doubling-down on past decisions. It is like getting someone to break a small law, which makes it easier to break the next larger law and so on.
What I agree with though is that the EU should step up.
I don't know if they really believe it, but they sure are sticking to him and the Republican party line that fall in line for him every time a decision is being made like confirming a corrupt FBI director, or confirming Tulsi Gabbard as a director of national intelligence who is a big friend of Putin and Bashar Assad of Syria
It has all become so farcical, that I believe it might be a good thing. Hopefully "normal" people (are there any left?) realise how terrible the government structures are and look to be part of alternatives.
