While writing the post on stock market manipulation, I was using the words 'shares' and 'stock' interchangeably. However in broader sense, both the words are different. A "share" represents a single unit of ownership in a company, while "stock" refers to the overall collection of shares issued by a company, meaning you buy individual "shares" which collectively make up the company's "stock.". In simpler terms, "share" is the smaller unit, while "stock" is the broader concept of ownership in a company.
This is an example of wrong choice of words in my content. A user who is not a professional writer or not control over English language, often ends up messing with "choice of words" while writing. Be it mails, contents or even messages. It is important to make use of "words" properly to make a sensible content.

This little instances reminded me of my early steemit #hive days. I was asked to leave away the platform, as my English is not "in-line" with the community. The narrative was that my English not being my mother tongue was not alligining with US / UK standard. It was an indirect #racial dig at me, which left me demotivated for a brief period of time. Later, I asked about the mistakes, which pointed out that, my writing was OK, but presenting them in a meaningful way was missing. It was juggling / choices of words in sentence, which creates mess to the whole content and not making proper sense.
I did took this prrsonally and started reading few journal to get a deep understanding on sentence formation. I am still learning everyday. Even now on #parapharsing my content, if I find something odd, I make the necessary correction. Not sure, how correct, I am at writing this much english content. Now over 7+ years on #hive, I still try to master my content. Honestly speaking at many instances, I could not get hold of the content crux of other authors. There are few popular writers on the chain, whose content get past over my head. I still have trouble understanding English languages. But I do trying to improve my English writing.

Choosing our words carefully in writing or speaking is crucial because it directly impacts how our message is perceived by the audience, influencing their understanding, emotional response, and overall interpretation of our intent. The right words can convey our ideas clearly, accurately, and persuasively, while the wrong words can lead to confusion, misinterpretations, or even negative reactions. English vocab has million of words, with many words has similar meaning. Here are few examples of how word choice can impact communication:
"Aggressive" vs. "assertive"
While both words describe a strong stance, "aggressive" implies hostility, while "assertive" conveys confidence without negativity.
"Cheap" vs. "affordable"
"Cheap" can imply low quality, while "affordable" suggests value for money.
"Excited" vs. "enthusiastic"
"Excited" can be seen as more childlike, while "enthusiastic" conveys a more professional excitement.
"Excited" vs. "Anxious"
While both words convey a feeling, "excited" has a positive connotation while "anxious" suggests nervousness.
"Mistake" vs. "Error"
"Mistake" may imply a more serious lapse in judgment compared to "error".
The list is long to highlight every similar meaning words. Different words carry different emotional weight, allowing us to set the desired tone (e.g., serious, playful, formal, casual) in our communication. Selecting right words that resonate with our target audience fosters engagement and builds rapport. It also ensures our message is easily understood by our audience, avoiding misinterpretations. Using appropriate vocabulary demonstrates our knowledge and expertise on the topic, enhancing our credibility or status.
Why I am focusing more on words choices while writing because strategic word choice can be used to sway opinions, motivate action, or build connection. There is no other way of improving the choice of correct words than by learning and improving Vocabulary. It is important tool of correct sentence formation. Vocabulary is something one cannot learn in a day or two. Learning vocabulary is a slow and steady process, give it some time to ensures meaningful writing. I am learning and trying to improve with each writing. Figuring out own mistakes is good as it allow us to take a deeper dig on the matter.
In good faith - Peace !!

You don't know how many times this has happened to me, with the subject of English. My English is bad and when I use the translator I have to check many times... and translate several times because if I don't use the right language it doesn't translate well. Sometimes the difference in languages is amazing.
English is definitely a tricky beast. Even as a former English major, I am still learning new things about it in my 40's.
This is what I am teaching in my class, diction matters even more so in business and during presentation. It will greatly impact the way others perceive us and how we carry ourselves as well. It is also best to update our vocabulary as meaning can evolve as well.
