**6 long years on Crypto & Hive! **
Yess, I have survived 6 years on Steem / Hive. Looking back now it appears to be a dream or a journey in blanket of darkness. All these years I have seen many ups and down, rejection and faces many challenges on the platform. Even today, I find it difficult to understand few comments, few topics or few conversations. Sometime it gets pass over my head. And still, I manage to survive 6 years. It is not a joke at all! If I analyse it has nothing to do with crypto, or making money. I think it was the challenge thrown on my way at different intervals, which never led me to pull back. Even though I was not sure how to succeed in those challenges but letting the journey go “just like that” was not in my book.

Beginner Bloopers
I Joined the platform, with no knowledge about crypto. It was like walking into darkness. It took me months to understand that by ‘writing’ we are earning crypto token which can be encashed in exchanges. I was completely unaware how the different #hive or #hbd token works and how more #hivepower increase our stake. You can mere imagine by this how was my early days would had been on this platform?.
No mentoring, no knowledge, Purely, unknown on an unwanted path. I only knew that I need to be regular on this platform and above all i was finding it far better than other social media account. you will find it interesting to know, that I opened my binance account only after 4 years of joining. By that time, I started getting bit of my hand by myself on this platform.
Zeal to do better - Blocktrades upvote
During my early days, getting upvotes was a challenge. I keep on posting but never had a genuine reward on my post unless and until I used Bid-bot. I was too much fascinated by “Blocktrades” for their big vote value. It was a dream to get his upvotes on any post. The zeal to get his upvotes kept me on posting regularly. It was my second phase of challenge. Finally, I had his $ 20 upvote on one of the post. It was sheer feeling of joy and happiness. I felt too relived and satisfied seeing 'blocktrades' name in the voting list. That day I learnt that the reward for being persistent is more sweeter than anything.
Language barrier – Moment of Survival
Sailing on hive can’t going to be easier for me. Even after achieving ‘blocktrades’ attention on my post, I come up with another challenge. This time the finger was raised on my English writing skill.
For sure English is not my mother tongue, so challenges were evident. Like we have two different speaking accent English and US, the writing skill are also different at different regions. The one who pinpointed me, told me that “my stay going to be shorter, due to improper English”. Which really hurt me and a set back to me. For once I decided to gave up, but on second thought I was ready to accept the challenge. Leaving the platform that time would never allow me to be better. The battle to get better is still on with every post, everyday!
Running away from problems is not a solution. Better stand up to it and face it.
These are one of few golden words from my Dad. Which I feel if never taught to me. I would find giving up a very easy option.
There are always something where I ended up with challenges which makes me to improve / get better and hive does give me all the chances whether it relates to, content writing, contest entries, photography skill, vlogging temper and many other things. I accepted them with open arms and the 6 years passed off quickly….. 6 long years ……. I am still wondering if I am ever made up for this place or not. But let the times goes by…
……btw I am again upto a new challenge…trying to get ocdb/appreciator on my post. Let see when it going to accomplished…the challenge is still on…
Peace!!

6 years! First my sincere congratulations on this great achievement here at Hive, because it is, it is a great achievement. Every step we take and getting better is a great achievement.
The language barrier is a difficulty but with patience it can be overcome.
I understand the joy you felt with that positive vote, the same thing happened to me, it is an immense joy because your thoughts, reflections or your work was rewarded and that gives enormous satisfaction!
Many many congratulations @steemflow , my best wishes to you!😀
The happiness is doubled when it comes after so much effort...it took me around 3-4 month to get a single upvote....one target at a time...😉
It happened to me in a similar way, the first 3 months I was super lost. .... I found my way...😀
Woow. 6 years is a very long time. I am relatively new here in hive and i can definitely relate to the beginner bloopers. But one thing is for sure, i will continue to learn because for me this platform is promising. Thank you for inspiring me with your journey. Lets be friends 😊

Thanks you so much @galenkp ...I like to contribute this for other entries...
I've got it covered and you already contribute to the #weekend-engagement but if you feel like supporting some of the other entrants that would be really great, and community-minded, of you.
Surely, I am happy to do that...🙂
