RE: Volatile Cocktail

Unfortunately my friend, I think we mistimed getting old and relaxing into an easy life by a couple of decades.

And are too old for the next round.

Trump is absolutely worse than any other option because he clearly fears no consequences and doesn't care who his decisions hurt.

Maybe this is what is needed. People often don't change until rock bottom, and we are definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel now.

Free speech no longer exists in US, the actions against Rumeysa Ozturk perfectly prove that.

I saw that today and watching it, the Gestapo came to mind - only, the Gestapo were better dressed in Hugo boss, and didn't cover their faces.

I think, by design, there is so much crazy that its overwhelming all who would stand up to it.

This is "all the shit in the air" - people are going to have to get dirty.

My unhinged conspiracy theory is that the Trump Admin is deliberately trying to cause a global recession and tank both the stock market and USD, in order for the billionaires to pick up cheap assets... at which point tariffs will all disappear and they'll own a higher percentage of wealth than ever.

Another round of wealth extension. It is pretty amazing how far they are willing to go.

It's tragic and funny to me that the US has 900 billion guns or whatever, to be able to stand up to the government, and yet all those gun owners have been convinced that all the pain being caused now and in the future is in their best interests. It's both evil and genius.

evil and genius maybe, but perhaps those gun owners aren't the smartest either. Or it could be that despite their words, they don't have the stomach for what is required either.

I don't disagree with any of your replies. I think it's a shame that people in general aren't willing to put in the work to save society before it hits rock bottom, but I also get it... life is hard enough day to day without also having to save society as well.

To be fair, having the stomach to do what might be required next is pretty hardcore... but I'm not sure that retiring to a little farm in the peaceful countryside is really on the cards for many of us anymore.
