The festive holiday season is here, and many people are immersed in the spirit of celebration. This is a special time for families to come together and reconnect, especially with loved ones they may not have seen for years. No matter how long it has been since they last met, the joy of the season brings everyone closer.
However, there are some individuals who will not be able to travel due to the nature of their work. Care workers, public officers like the police, and others in essential services often have to remain on duty during this period. Their work is crucial to society. Without them, there would be a lack of order, and lives could be at risk. Their sacrifices remind us of the importance of maintaining peace and safety even as the world celebrates.
Amid the merriment, I believe it is also a perfect time to focus on reconciliation. Families often have unresolved issues, and this season provides an opportunity to address those differences. In some families, peace and understanding are what they truly need to strengthen their bonds. While many people prioritize celebration and enjoyment, I think more effort should be made to use this time for healing and mending relationships.
This year, Christmas brought new experiences for my family and me. We decided not to travel but to stay back instead. We sent gifts and items to our relatives whom we thought would appreciate them. This decision was partly influenced by the ongoing staff audit at my workplace, which made travelling difficult. In hindsight, it felt like a blessing in disguise because, honestly, we couldn’t afford the expenses of travelling this year.
Staying back, however, came with its own responsibilities. We had to ensure we were prepared for Christmas by purchasing essentials such as food and clothing. These are necessary to keep the festive spirit alive, even at home.
Despite not
travelling, we had the privilege of celebrating with friends who visited us in numbers. Some of them came with their families, and their presence brought immense joy to our home. It was a blessing beyond words to have so many people around, sharing in our happiness.
As we reflect on this Christmas, I am deeply grateful. It has been a time of joy, connection, and blessings for us. Although the season required some adjustments, the moments we shared with friends and family made it worthwhile. My prayer is that we continue to have more reasons to celebrate and cherish one another in the coming years.
Celebrate Christmas with Joy with your family, and pray that you will be given the opportunity to celebrate christmas next year. Thank you, happy days.
Thanks for stopping by. We will all have reasons to celebrate.
