I feel like we (perhaps just me) are living in an increasingly strange world that is becoming less hospitable for humans.
It is not just you, but even if there seem to be many reasons to despair, we should not.
We should look for people and communities that are working for the better good.
We are entitled to our retribution for those who have trespassed against us, ...
We should resist this temptation and forgive them in our minds. And if we have evil thoughts because of them, we should avoid these people.
There are always reasons to be cautiously optimistic even when it seems that everything is falling apart.
I agree. It is a good reminder though to be attentive and act with intention when building that community.
I am 51% an optimist. There is a chance :)
