Lights and shadows

in Art Talk3 days ago (edited)

Life is full of surprises, coincidences, lights and shadows or is it all predetermined somewhere... (?)
I planned to visit this collective exhibition Luces y Sombras (Lights and Shadows) of several artists on Friday. However, due to some unexpected circumstances, I had to change my schedule of a few lessons from Friday to Thursday, and so the time for my visit to this exhibition also changed to a day earlier.

At first, I thought that it would be better if I had stuck with my original plan for Friday, I would have had more time to read about each painting because there was a QR code available for many of them... but that's how it had to be because Friday dawned with a migraine for me that could not be helped. I was not in the shape for anything, and even less for visiting exhibitions. Now I can say, how lucky I was that I had to change my schedule for Thursday! Thanks to that, you can now make this quick visit to the exhibition hall with me.

It will be quick, I promise. 😁

Here comes my first attempt ever to take a panoramic photo. I hope you saw this small exhibition well, I promised it would be quick. 😂

The end.

It was just a joke, here it comes in sections. The other day @palomap3 posted about her visit to Peñíscola Sea Museum and while reading her post, I realized how cool and easy to understand it was divided into sections. Now, I can't divide these paintings into theme-related sections, but I will do it in the order of how they were hung in that hall, from left to right.

Of course, we need smaller sections too. The first three paintings are from the same author, María Cupini, and I loved them all. I see them as reminders and inspiration for three very important things in our lives: introspection, awakening, and creation.

1000009715.jpg

Sometimes we just have to stop and look carefully at how our thoughts are, what they hide or in what direction they go. Making a deep introspection, maybe we wake up from a place where we didn't belong or where we are not free and we start to create light.

Here we see these works, with the corresponding authors from left to right: Cicatríz (Scar) by Aurora Cano, Renatus by Victor Varón and Cambiante (Changing) by Oscar Tejada.

It could sound like an odd name for this artwork. This bird is a fairly popular subject for artists, whether it is a piece of music or literature. Here, it appears as a painting as well. Perhaps it is the immense waters made of salty drops that change? The memory of a deep touch that created waves of fantasy in once smooth surface travels, immutable in silence.

From the next batch, I liked the most the first one. It is the work by Berta Llidó, Claroscuro (Chiaroscuro).

1000009717.jpg

1000009741.jpg

It's a mixture of collage and acrylic, where the author is searching for a way to express the inexpressible. With responsibility, I suppose. There is something exciting about this artwork, maybe the cool appearance of this woman with her glasses, or the scarf...? I know, she heard about the monthly challenge in the Hive Collectors Community. That is why she wears so many different scarves, a collage of them.

1000009739.jpg

mipiano_banners_strip_gimp.png

1000009719.jpg

From left to right... Alfonso Ayelo Soler - Hacia la luz (Towards the light), Belén Quintana - Intensidad (Intensity) and Noelia Lillo - Noor.

Here I have two favourites, both ladies that find their light - one walking toward it and the other closing her eyes and letting herself be illuminated. I don't have bangs and my hair is longer, but somehow I like to imagine myself in that ambience, in those colours.

In this section, I am going to mention just one artwork, the one in the middle. The author is Manuela Gómez Román. Title ¡¡Equidad!! (Equity!!)

1000009728.jpg

One part of the painting shows the face of a boy, and the other side words like economy, power, religion, politics, ideologies, weapons... Look at this detail, which for me brought the message that there is still no freedom and justice in this world.

Oh, I said this would be a quick tour... I hope you are still not bored with art as I want to show you more cool details from the next painting where the girl has floral decorations in her hat made of fabric, as well as her hair. Colourful hair made of textiles.

On the wall by the entrance door, there was just one artwork. However, it is beautiful so I can't skip it. (please, forgive me for this already longer tour)

Titled Explosión de luz (Explosion of Light) by its author J.J. Rodríguez de Guzman, this painting could be the beginning and the end of this, although small, but a really nice collective exhibition. Lights and shadows, I think both were represented in all of these paintings.

Sort:

When the plans don't turn out as you want, it's because that's how they should be. This is an excellent example!!

Thank you for reminding me how square-headed I am, always classifying everything. 🤣 You don't need to give you the sections, you can create the ones you want and here you have done very well, hehe. So we admire the works in small groups and they all take centre stage.

The paintings are wonderful, an explosion of colours between those lights and shadows they represent. My favourites are the Introspection of María Cupini for the skill when painting the muscles, the contrasts of the and the meaning it transmits, and the Explosion of Light of J.J. Rodríguez de Guzman for that beautiful texture.

I loved this, thanks for sharing!!

Haha, I like classifying too 😜 although it maybe doesn't look like that, haha, many times just a mess 😂
It was fun to make these parts/sections and then spotlight some of them, though it took some time - I started the post in the morning and finished late in the evening haha (but it is as we had a bricklayer and plumber at home, and I had a concert, and the continuation of my migraine etc...

Oh, the texture of Explosión de luz is awesome! :))

Grscias por venir conmigo a este paseo con arte 🤗

I hope your migraine got better and you could have had a good Sunday.

Although this one is my favourite from the first moment I saw it .... because I looked at the pictures many times .... there are others... but this one is incredible... did you look at the feet? they are made to perfection! I love the woman who lets herself be illuminated and the textures of the works, you made some close ups that make me be there and see how these beautiful works were made!!!! Thank you for this, I enjoyed it very much! Great Sunday!💞

Your choice is great, I love this one too. The feet, yeah, so realistic. Do you notice too that she is in a kind of kaleidoscope? Or is it just me who sees it as a kaleidoscope?

The details in the paintings were cool so I tried with a few close-ups, I am glad you enjoyed this art tour ;) Feliz domingo igualmente 😇

I see it too, but I couldn't find the word hahaha but it's great. I like to see how the paint has volume and creates incredible textures, thanks to you!

Good it worked out well on the end.
What a beautiful exhibition. I like the first 3 the most. Love her use of colour and the forms of the people. Stunning.
Thanks for taking us along 😊

Did you manage to get the appointments yet?

Have a lovely Sunday

And thank you for coming with me :) I am very glad you liked those first three paintings, special ones indeed!

The appointments: I reported the "incidencia" when it gave me the error, and they said that would be back to my issue soon. I was trying anyway and in the end, I managed yesterday around 11 am to enter and fill out three appointments, but the first date was for February 😂 however, I will have to cancel one of them and try for another day (now when I finally managed hahaha) as my son can't come that day from Valencia. But at least, we did something so that is good news! Thank you for asking, I also wanted to inform you about this 😇

Anytime 😊 they are stunning 🤩

Oh that’s good news… woohhoooo! very far ahead though, but i am happy you got appointments.
A shame you have to change your son’s one.
You are welcome and thank you.
Have a good evening and a stunning new week 😎

Thanks for taking us to that expo, small but varied and interesting. I like them, because you find variety in a small space. I loved the last work "Explosión de luz". Equidad has a strong message, a piece that is not simple at all, it leads to reflection and the metal mesh detail completes the concept very well.

Yes, a variety that can be seen in a few steps :)
Equidad - so important and strong message, and probably would not be the same without the mesh detail. Hahaha, flowers - always! 😉🌼😆

La migraña viene y se va, pero la venceré. Gracias, y feliz domingo 🌟

Interesting how you chose to present this museum, or rather, the paintings.
Even if it seems easy to post about art, with paintings, I find it hard to keep the reader's attention.
You did it, I wanted to get your opinion on what you saw in the exhibit.

Two days ago I also visited a great museum, a group of exhibits that closed today, and I almost missed them, for health reasons (wife's). I was now thinking about how to make a post, and this blog of yours may be an inspiration. Thanks, @mipiano!

Hey hey @bluemoon, thank you. Actually, it is not easy to set up a post about an exhibition as it seems, well, sometimes it is easier and other times more challenging It depends of how the paintings inspire us ;)
I hope your wife is feeling good by now? 🙏 Looking forward to seeing that post of yours when you make it. 💫

Of course, it depends primarily on the quality of the exhibits, but also on the way they are used in the blog. There are not many such posts about art, paintings and painters, and it is interesting how everyone wants to talk about it, in their own personal style.

My wife had a herniated disc operation, she now has to go to physiotherapy every day and I have to go with her and do all the housework. I do this with pleasure, but the fact that it consumes all my time annoys me a little.

Thank you very much for the wishes. I wish you health and no migraines. I realize how unproductive and painful it is.

Oh yes, I remember you told me about her herniated disc operation and you doing all the chores. Step by step, the recovery can't be sped up, but the important this is that she improves. I hope yes. 🙏

I so understand your feeling about the lack of time. Maybe we expect too much from ourselves and then we burn out? Quick check: Do we try to give the best of us? If yes, regardless of the results, we should stay calm (this was a self-therapy too hahaha 😂)

Have a good day @bluemoon 👋

Por favor... 🙏 sigue llevándonos a estas exhibiciones de arte. ¡Y ponte bien ya!

Se intentará, tengo ya varias visitas a diferentes museos during the last year but the photos keep sleeping somewhere in my phone. Gracias, en eso estoy, mejoré en las últimas horas but you know how these episodes are that last for a few days. Thank you.

What a beauty you have shared here, plus you have introduced me to another community where I think I will have a great time. Good choice of the title of this post my friend, I stopped for a while to look at the images in great detail, because it really is stunning, thanks for sharing 🙏

I am glad you found out now about this community, have fun when you decide to bring your visits to museums or exhibitions. These were some very inspiring paintings, thank you Jes.

I liked the format, small as a pill, yet neat. And I quite liked the collage. Thanks for this tour.

Regards.

Hello Enraizar

The exhibition hall of Casa de Cultura is not so big, and also, it can be divided into smaller parts as was the case with these movable walls when the exhibition is not too big. I am gl ad you liked the collage too, and thank you for checking out this little tour. Nice Sunday evening to you 👋

Hi Mipiano, I like small format exhibitions, and also if there is a small audience I enjoy them more. This way of presenting the works I quite liked, and ahy creations that I also liked a lot, so again thank you for this visit.

As it is a little late, I will skip Sunday. I hope you have a great week.

@tipu curate

Thank you 😇

What a lovely space!!;the paintings are unique!! thank you!

Your field of art, I hope you liked them ;)

Merece ser un tema de estudio

Tema de estudio? Las luces y sombras, o las pinturas? No te entendí

When I look at this paintings it rely holds great meaning, and some of them if not all made me feel they are people out there who can express words with paintings its beautiful

Yes, that is how it is, there are people who can express deep meanings through art...
