Against a blue cloudy sky and ocean a huge white sculpture is standing on the beach of Le Havre. The work is titled Up #3, created by Sabina Lang and Daniel Baumann, an artcouple from Switzerland. They are known for large sculptures in public spaces. It was placed in 2017 on the beach near the Port of Le Havre.
In 2018 the sculpture was replaced and as from than on it will be permanent there. The abstract construction can remind the observer of buildings in the rebuilded citycenter of Le Havre, after the destruction during the WOII. The architect August Perret rebuilded Le Havre between 1945 and 1964 in a Modern Design style, mainly using concrete.
