Art for the love of art

Yesterday I put the world on pause and met up with one of my best friends, our pretext for creating. Many times artistic creation for the mere pleasure of creating is seen as a waste of time. For those who create, they understand the importance of these moments in their processes and how they impact our creativity, which is ultimately our job.

Between talks, paintings, and photography, the afternoon developed. Many people do not understand the forms of art that are born simply from that, the flow of thought influenced by the right environment. Modern art in many ways is nothing more than the translation of these facts.

I wrote at times, I took memories for posterity. It is true that the work of a writer is done alone, but this contact with other ways of doing things is more than necessary to develop any work, to energize our thinking from other perspectives to express the same ideas in different manifestations.

After a couple of hours, when the closing of the café and the arrival of the bill were already being announced, that impulse to be productive and efficient, which the culture of consumption has so deeply implanted in us, reached us. And well, my friend's decision came to turn the creation of that afternoon into a postcard with the most positive messages possible for Valentine's Day.

And the same question came back to me as always: maybe when artistic creation takes a turn towards the commercial, does it stop being less sincere, less art?
