Good Day! Just a quick update here on the card market. I have built a few self sustaining accounts and a few income ones over the last bit. This is now due to Rebellion hype and bear market prices leading to it.
What I am doing (I have now spent all funds in-game and on the side) is buying up floor cards that rent well. This will protect our investment with a capped downside, and can scale upwards very fast if the markets shift. After renting them out we use that income to rent better play decks (self sustaining accts) or use it to buy more cards that we then rent out (income accts)
We have been buying up reward cards using BIDS on the @peakmonsters website. We put up our BIDS in DEC form to limit USD/DEC effecting our plan. We price our BIDS based on 2 factors.
The price of the card in DEC vs the BURN value of the card. This is the real price we pay. For example if you buy an EPIC reward card for 110 DEC, and the BURN value is 100 DEC, You really only paid 10 DEC for that card as 100 DEC is ALWAYS tied to it through BURNING.
What the card can RENT for over a few different BCX level, and IF they often or not. We plan to rent out all these cards while hodling, so this will be a major factor.
This will boil down to say, we buy 4 EPICs for 440 DEC (110x4). We can rent a level 2 EPIC for 0.3 DEC/day. After 150 days of renting we will have 45 DEC of income, plus we can burn the card for 400 DEC, giving us 445 DEC on the 440 spent as a worse case.
If you can buy cards cheaper, or the cards rent for more, it effects these numbers wildly. I have been grabbing lvl 2 epics last night at 404 DEC (101 DEC/BCX). This leaves me with ~13 days of renting at 0.3 DEC before burning the card puts me in PROFIT.
This scales as we roll the rental income into more cards. We can scale by selling after land if cards go up, we can scale higher if we hodl and rental prices go up. To top it off we can cut out clean at any time as we showed even burning will leave a sliver of profit.
Rebellion is cool and all, but the SPL market has alot to offer outside shiny new things <3
