Why not use DEC as credits for bids and rentals?

DECs are transferable like steem^(*1) or hive. There can be "normal" DEC in game usable for normal purchases plus "custodial" DEC that is simply transferred to peakmonsters and works like credits for bids, rentals and/or credit purchases. Do I miss something important here?
