Project Burner So;La HUD Mock-Up

So;La is the player(s)' AI companion and automatic targeting system. The automated targeting portion is definitely inspired by the VATS system introduced in Fallout, in which a player has the option to aim manually, or to use the computer assisted aiming at the cost of slightly more action points. So;La also draws from the more recent trend of digital assistants, offering direction and instructions to the player. As far as the display graphics, I think having lower poly renders of Xenos scum can help differentiate them from the surrounding scenery, and the wireframe outline can further separate out the portion of the creature which is being targeted for attacks. At the bottom of the screen are symbols for armor, energy shield, and health, from left to right, with seven segment displays to show their count. These are placeholder images for the proof of concept art, and I am probably going to make some vector art graphics for later promotional images.
To me, augmented reality seems to be a natural fit for the future war genre, and having a voice to go along with the graphical overlay adds a level of depth that the HUD from the Terminator films lacks.

I do want to make it clear that the finished product for Project Burner is a card based tabletop game, so graphics like this are not representative of the final product, but are for world building and promotion. Much further down the line, if development time and resources allow, there may be a video game adaptation of the tabletop, but there are currently no plans for such.
