Ah, this weird country of mine! We have been living a crisis, a serious one. We have dealt with food scarcity amidst the most ferocious hyperinflation. But still, you can find all sorts of luxuries for the few who can afford them.
I took this photo a couple of months ago. Because these were "imported oranges". Come on; we have perfect, good local oranges —they are not really orange in colour, but it doesn't matter.—
I get that we import blueberries, truffles, and olive oil. But oranges?
On the very bright yellow side, they are nice looking.

That is true, why import them if you have them already and you are helping your economy by buying locally grown food
It is. But it seems to be a lost battle for reasons that go from the most pressing —local production faces all sorts of challenges, sometimes supply doesn't meet the demands, some local is more expensive— to the more... Snobbish?
"Sustainable" is not a word in our vocabulary, and that's sad.
