Photo Filters and Effects Contest

I have always liked this photograph because of the way by itself, without needing filters or editing, it is radiant, striking and vibrant ... But for the contest I came up with the idea of giving it a total twist, and turning it into a night in Alaska ... turning the filters into a night image and adding an aurora borealis to the sky to give it a mystical and surprising detail.

Here is my evolution process:

Concurso Photo Filters and Effects

IMG_0911.JPG

This is the original photograph, showing the vibrant colors of the harvest.

1 y 2.jpg

The first thing I did was, rescale the image, rotate it because I did not capture the horizon right, and I made some changes in the vegetation on the left side, since they are bushes that divert the observer's attention and we want to focus on the sky, more than anything.

3 y 4.jpg

Then I removed the sky, and prepared a very dark starry sky.

5 y 6.jpg

Little by little I added layers on top of the starry sky with colors, so that it feels blurred (lowering the opacity in the layers and placing them in Exclusion mode). And then I lowered the brightness to my base photo to make the night feel. And I raised the contrast a little.

7 y 9.jpg

I continued adding layers of color to the sky by changing the brushes, until I reached the necessary amount, I increased the contrast more, playing a little with saturation and I added a reflection of the same colors of the sky in the field, so that they feel the changes of lights (this one with a much lower opacity and in Overlay mode).

And Voilá this is the result:

After this I thought to darken the field more so that the total focal point is the sky, but I understand that it gives a wonderful touch to the landscape.

I hope you enjoyed it as i did, and hope you learned something new!

Thank you for visiting my blog. Until next time.

Love your edits and creativity, especially since seeing this spectacular sky show is on my bucketlist! @tripode

If you can't go see the Nothern Lights, bring the Aurora Borealis to you!🌌🔭

Good luck in the contest!

Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun doing it!

I love the effect. It's a kind of fantasy landscape. I feel like this might be an image fantasy writers could use. I hope we get more images for that genre.

Thank you so much!! I'm going to keep it in mind.

This is a pretty cool edit work, very creative...I like the colourful sky, I feel it makes the night beautiful and less lonely. I also love how you showed each step you took...it was very easy to understand. Nice job and I am glad to have you participate in the contest. 🤗

Thank you very much!! Yes, I always try to be as detailed as possible, so that the viewer understands it without problems.

Hello @tripode Very nice job on the photo and filters for your image. They make the skyline dance in the color pattern. Good luck in the contest this week.
