Haha, that's pretty funny they would try to scare everyone like that. Seems pretty typical. I wonder how many people who were thinking about moving to solar will hold off due to that. I definitely seems smarter to go the self reliant way so they can't have any foothold.
Yes ad even if they try and fine you R25K or $1.4K to be compliant under their systems the savings would pay the fine within 6 months in my case. I do not think they want to go down this route because people will install them no matter what. With the new pricing almost doubling the monthly bill they will be the biggest losers next year.
I wish that was more the case here. I just don't think we have enough sun. Thankfully our power company isn't quite as corrupt either.
