99 bottles of beer on the wall...

in HiveBR10 hours ago

I'm joining the HiveBR Photo Contest again this week. The organisers came up with a very nice subject again: BOTTLE

That is a subject I've photographed quite a few times before in my life since I'm a beer enthusiast!.
I regularly try to visit some beer shops to find some beers I haven't tasted yet to try out.

There was a trend going on that more and more beers were were sold in tin cans, but since the Dutch government recently introduced deposit for tin cans, the trend has slowed down.

I'm lucky to have quite a large beer shop that is about 6 kilometers from my home, so I visit it a couple of times a year.
This shop is what a toy or candy store is for kids. They have over 1200 different craft beers, which is an amazing amount. It does make choosing new beers a bit diffucult though. Although that's a reason for me to return.
The picture below is a shot I took in the shop recently. This is just a part of the bottles they have!

My beer cabinet

I keep my beers in a special berr cabinet in the garage. The beers don't need to be kept in the fridge, but they do need to be kept in a dark location. If the bottles are exposed to light, that will change the taste of the beers. That is also the reason why beers often are in brown bottles.
This is a picture of my beer cabinet from a while ago. This was after my birthday by the way, that is why it is so full. I don't drink a lot, so it takes weeks, even months before I need to get back to my beer shop to get some new ones.

City trips

Whenever I visit a city with my family, which consists of three ladies and me, I often find myself either in clothes stores or wandering through the streets by myself (when I'm fed up with the stores). I often find myself searching for a liquor store or supermarket to see if they have some local beers there. The best is when there is a beer store, but not al cities have one.

Recently, during a trip to a city in the Netherlands I've found a perl again. A small shop with hundreds of beers including quite a few local ones and even one made by the store owner himself. How more local can you get it.

The next photo was made two years agai in the city of Lyon, France. When I'm on holiday I can't buy too many beers, but I always want to buy a few bottles. They often have quite a lot which I can't get in The Netherlands.

Another cool thing about beer bottles are the bottle caps. I've been collecting bottle caps from all the unique beers I've had for over 15 years now and have quite a large collection.
A lot of the bottle caps are from beers that hold a memory. They were gifted by someone or have been bought and/or drunk during a holiday or a trip.
I've put most of my bottle caps in a frame which makes it a colorful collection of memories.

Hope you're well

It's a good night at home 😊

I like your collections of beer caps! That is awesome! I am mesmerized because it is very colorful and you can put it in a frame and hang it on the wall.

Thanks!
