20th August 2021
Today I got my 2nd dose. The experience was very much like the first dose except this time, the nurse who jabbed me is better with a syringe. It's been about 4 hours now. I started feeling hot from the inside about an hour ago. Same like the first dose, I'm feeling this constant need to eat. It's like my stomach is hungry, only its not!
My appointment was 3pm and I decided to eat one of the croissants I ordered right before I left home. They were baked fresh and delivered today around 2pm. Previously, when I had my 1st dose I got so hungry while driving home. I had a sudden craving for 'rojak' but sadly I could not find one. So this round, I decided to eat first.
I ordered this box of Danish pastry so I can enjoy them this weekend.
A photo of me after the 1st dose. Didn't bother to take a photo after the 2nd dose.
Just like the first dose, although feeling hot I do not have a fever. I took fresh coconut water to cool down besides drinking more plain water. And just like the first dose, I feel like eating and eating. Just before I started writing this blog, I ate another pastry. Yummylicious!
I ordered extra treats. Cakes to reward myself for having gotten my 2nd dose.
@davidke20 got his 2nd dose last week. So he gets to enjoy my treats as well!
Even though the both of us are fully vaccinated, we still have to be vigilant because we have 2 kids at home. Schools may be reopening in October and none of our kids are vaccinated. Majority of Malaysian parents are pushing for it to be delayed. The numbers in Klang Valley are still super high.
Today, the news reported that the government is closing down some of the vaccination centres now that a certain percentage of Klang Valley residents are vaccinated. Although being vaccinated it doesn't mean we won't get infected. At least we know we won't end up in hospitals. We hope-lah.
Let's hope for the best! It's 7.30pm. Time for dinner!
I feel like I should have never waited this long to be vaccinated (still need to schedule a first dose), but I did, mostly going against my gut feeling since my family decided to wait. (I seriously need to quit doing what my family is doing just to go with the flow.) Parents were concerned since I suffer from tachycardia that the vaccine would have an ill affect on me. though I very much doubt it; when I got COVID back in December, the Gods were good to me and allowed me to endure the disease nearly symptom free. I think it was not a wise decision for me to wait. Good for you catching up with the rest of the world...
When putting away the noise surrounding the vaccine and de-politicizing it, the decision is much easier. I should have been stronger at the beginning.
Hey ya @cambridgeport90, thanks for sharing such a personal experience here. There were many concerns surrounding the vaccine here as well. My reasons are my family and the community I live in. That made the decision easier. Hope you will blog about your first dose experience.
