I actually wanted to draw her after her release as a new character for TEKKEN 7, but meh. I did bought the DLC and enjoyed playing as her for a while. I also like the stage, where the music and stage is a throwback of previous TEKKEN OST. I guess her trailer down here summarize the whole thing.

So, about Kanku Dai... Lidia here actually practices Shotokan Karate and the Kata (the form) she's performing at the beginning is called Kanku Dai (original name Kushanku Dai in other Shuri-Te based Karate styles). Which makes sense because her motion capture is a well known Karate Master by the name of Tatsuya Naka, a 7th Dan Shotokan Karate master of the Japan Karate Association.

Though to be fair TEKKEN has always started motion capture for their game projects starting from TEKKEN 3, where ITF Taekwondo and Capoiera was introduced via motion capture as well, and TEKKEN 4 introduces Kyokushin Karate with the overhaul of Jin Kazama's moveset. Even though I do practice martial arts (Kukkiwon style Taekwondo) before being introduced to TEKKEN, the authenticity of the martial arts in TEKKEN is what keeps me in TEKKEN for a long time (ignore those bears, dinosaurs, robots and whatever weird TEKKEN characters have for a while, okay?). Of course, the more I dig deep into the mechanics, the more I like to play TEKKEN in general. Just don't expect me to win any tournaments, cuz' I learned it the hard way by being trashed by the pros :P.

And yes, I've practiced this kata during this time because of it. I really liked the kata currently. It's honestly pretty tiring doing this kata but its worth it. But don't even get started on Chatan Yara Kushanku, the original version of this kata. It's longer and has additional moves compared to Kanku/Kushanku Dai, and I did not even touch that kata yet...

Anyways, stay safe and have fun! Oh, any have a wonderful Eid this year!
