Road Trip #2 - Misting Mornings in Grasslands

DAY #2
After our earlier stop exploring the Badlands portion of Grasslands National park. We drove into the night to the west side of the park. The west side has gentler hills and is filled with native grasses that can be harder to find in other parts of Saskatchewan.

When we pulled into the west side of Grasslands National Park it was quite dark so we did not get to see much of the landscape except for a light silhouette of the hills from the dying light as we pulled into our camping spot for the evening. We quickly set up camp got the stove out and cooked ourselves a quick meal of spaghetti which we wash down with a beer! once we were finished, we cleaned up as quick as we could and got onto photographing the Milkyway. Grassland National Park has some of the darkest skies in Canada. In the summer months, you can see our galaxy burning brightly in the southern sky. If you haven't had the opportunity to see the Milkyway with your own eyes I encourage you all to make the trip out to some dark skies. It truly is a sight to be seen.

The next morning we were woken by rays of light shining through the windows of our car. We hopped out of the car and were greeted with a stunning scene. The mist had filled the valley around us. After exploring this area for a bit we hopped into the car and cruised around the rest of the park. The valley was filled with moose, mule deer and other little critters.
