Sunday August 29! My girlfriend and I Karen set off on an epic journey 3000km road trip to Quadra Island in British Columbia. Winnipeg Manitoba was our Starting point.

To be honest we kinda blew through the southern part of Manitoba as we were very eager to get to Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan. Grassland National Park is located on the Saskatchewan Montana border and is one of the last undisturbed grasslands in the nation.

The landscape is unique, harsh and semi arid but makes for a perfect habitat for some well adjusted species. There is a vast array of hawks rattle snakes, and prong horned antelope roaming the valley.

What an awesome trip. I hope we can look forward to more photo essays. I have lived in Alberta, BC, and Ontario, and I have driven back and forth across thd country. There is nothing better than a good road trip in my opinion. I have never been to Grasslands National Park, though. The photos are gorgeous!

Are you guys camping?

One day, in the summer, if you feel like it, I recommend you take a road trip up to the Yukon and Alaska. I did it in my 20s and it was breath-taking. Midnight sun. Trip of a lifetime. If you do venture into Alaska, though, take a sturdy vehicle. Unless they have improved the situation, the roads are hard on cars. The Yukon roads are much better maintained and I don't know why that is.

Happy travels. I look forward to the next installment if you choose to write it!

Yes we were camping in our car! We has it setup with a small memory foam mattress plus our sleeping bags.Yukon is already on the bucket list and perhaps Alaska. I hope to have my next vehicle set up for overlanding so Alaska may be on the books we will have to wait and see.
