Wilderness Journal 22 - The Pacific North West Fall Drought

This fall the Pacific North West has had one of the most impactful droughts it has seen. Only a few millimetres of rain fell this fall making it difficult for the salmon to swim up river and spawn. The scenes shown here are not the worst of it. Some rivers completely dried up, leaving thousands of salmon to rot in the sun. The salmon are a very important part of the ecosystem on the west coast and more droughts could be catastrophic.
