NATURE IS EVRYWHERE. THIS IS NOT MY HOME TOWN BUT LERMOOS AUSTRIA

A few weeks ago we went to Austria for a week of skiing and snow fun. The weather was outstanding and we had the family all together and that is the richest feeling ever.

This is about amazing Nature, and the nature breaths so beautiful when its cold and when there is snow. The different sorts of mist made me make these beautiful pictures. I am the photographer for sure but also the lover of these moments.

Fog can be caused by cooling around sunset or often only at dawn and is the first to form above a meadow probably near a ditch where the air is humid. There are different types of fog. The names given to the meteorology of fog reveal the circumstances under which the fog originates.

This is my fog blog ....

there are so many kinds of fog and its an interesting read.

  1. Ground fog: ground fog or low-hanging fog is fog below eye level. This often arises because the temperature on the ground is lower than at eye level, which causes fog to form faster.
  2. Fog banks: a fog bank, fog string or fog patches are recently created fog that changes location due to a weak wind and therefore does not form a whole. The view in an area with fog banks is therefore very variable. This can be very treacherous for traffic, as it is impossible to predict where these fog banks can pop up. In the north and east of the Netherlands they are also called white wives.
  3. Radiation mist forms above the earth's surface by radiation in clear weather, where the earth's surface cools down after sunset. The fog then forms when there is little to no wind to mix the cold air layer above the ground with higher, warmer layers and the air contains so much water vapor that the dew point is exceeded.
At low temperatures, a mist can form above a snow cover at sunset, which can become very dense and can limit local visibility to less than 10 meters. Freezing of fog and freezing of wet roads can also make it slippery.
Above a slightly sloping pasture, colder and heavier air flows in the direction of a ditch, where through mixing with moist air ditch fog is created. The local fog usually spreads rapidly, so that the fog banks that are so treacherous for traffic are created.
  4. Advective fog occurs with the supply of relatively warm air above a colder surface. The warm air is cooled by the surface. If the warm air contains a lot of moisture, the air becomes saturated and then condenses into fog. This type of mist is common in the winter when moist, warm sea air enters the cold land through a westerly wind.
  5. Sea mist is created above the sea when warm air comes into contact with a cold sea. Fog occurs above the sea when cold air flows over relatively warm sea water or when warm air comes into contact with a cold sea.
  6. Rain fog can occur if it rains from warmer air that is supplied to the atmosphere at some height, while it is still cold at the surface of the earth. The warmer rain falls through the cold air in which fog forms. Rain fog also occurs when the sun breaks through after a heavy shower and there is little wind. In the bright sunlight we see the vapor coming from streets and roofs.

And Frozen fog or frozen fog is normal fog because the temperature of the subsurface, such as roads, overpasses or leaves, is so cold that it immediately freezes to the subsurface. This can be very treacherous for traffic, because the temperature on the ground is lower than that at eye level. For example, the temperature at eye level can be a safe 3 degrees Celsius, but it can freeze on the ground. When these freezing phenomena become well visible on objects, we call it rough frost.Ice fog occurs when the air is so cold that the fog is not ice, but ice crystals.

Fantastic photos and interesting facts about the fog. You made me change my mind about the fog. I must admit I never liked it that much. But it can be beautiful of its own.
