Taking Shelter at Danasan's Peak.

in WE ARE MOVING10 months ago

While some opt to seek comfort under the roof against the extreme heat index our country has been experiencing now, others prefer to go to the mountains and find comfort under the canopy of the trees to feel the natural cold wind exuded by these mighty greens, I’m one of those “others”. The hot weather doesn’t bother me anyway. (wink!)

PAG-ASA, our country’s weather agency issued a warning under the “danger” classification as temperatures soar between 42C to 51C in the past week (Philstar Global News). This is very alarming, especially in big cities, meanwhile, in my countryside, it is around 33C, with 7C hotter compared to our minimum heat index which was 26C. You might frown upon seeing people going outdoors specifically in the mountains despite the heat (if you see one, but it’s very rare in my countryside). But trust me, hiking mountains is just so healthily addicting and a kind of refreshment we need this time.

Oops, I guess I talk a lot already. So today, I’m bringing you to a place I took shelter with, that reveals the majestic view of the mountain range of Danao, the Danasan Peak Campsite. So let’s be refreshed together.

The Danasan Peak Campsite

My stumble upon of this serene and beautiful Peak of Danasan was a product of one of my random road trips in the mountains of Danao. Danasan, perched atop, has become famous for its Eco park filled with adventure. I often see advertisements for the outdoor adventure it offers like biking, ziplining, and more but my eyes were rather glued on its beautiful outdoor backdrop.

My heart leaped and my feet felt giddy when I saw the signage of “Danasan Peak Campsite” pointing on a hill.A perfect spot for a hike upwards. I looked around to see locals I could inquire about the ways to access the peak, but nobody was around which drew a smile on my lips as this meant I had to hike and discover the place by myself. AYeeeyy!

Here we go!

Following the path upward, something caught my attention, a bright pink tiny thing swaying by the wind and I was surprised to discover that it was not only one but more of it leading to a narrow path. Seem to be a backdoor? Or to somewhere adventurous!

IMG20240415124643.jpg

Is this the path less traveled?

Let’s see where these pink ribbons will take us!

IMG20240415125012.jpg

My guess was that this path is the shortcut going to the peak. However, I was caught by surprise that with each step I took, the mountains of Danao slowly revealed their majesty to me! Waaahh!!! I was speechless!

The Majestic beauty!

Here I stood in the spot where the mountain range felt like just within my reach! The stunning rolling mountain proudly displays its curves and its lushness before my eyes. And the clouds almost kissing the mountain added magnificence to the view! I couldn’t help but be in awe of this wonderful creation I just discovered.

And what a perfect timing. Mr. Sun suddenly felt timid and hid behind the clouds casting shadows and spotlights to different parts of the mountain. And yes, also to let me savor the magnificent view without worrying about the scorching heat of the sun.

Autumn vibes!

It's not just the lush and green mountains that stole my heart that time but also the bright autumn-like color of the vegetation which gives a perfect contrast of the majestic view.! I just so love the scenery.!

I stayed there for a while lingering on the beauty in front of me. I am already contented with this stunning view.😍 But let's go uphill to see the Camping site!

Oh My look at that!

The camping site

Danasan Peak camping site provides a good spot for campers who love to camp surrounded by nature yet don’t need to trek extensively. The campsite offers a panoramic top view of the mountains of Danao. For sure, anyone will have a good camping experience in the place.

The flat terrain on top could cater to more than 10 tents. Though it didn’t have trees in the middle that will shelter you however it is surrounded by trees that act like natural fences surrounding the site.

Due to our extremely hot temperature, you could see that the grasses have turned yellow but just look afar and you’ll see the mountains seemed to be not affected of the heat index.

IMG20240415130814.jpg

Starstruck by the mountains.!

After seeing the beauty of the campsite, I decided to go down and settle in the spot where the mountains felt just within arm's reach.

IMG20240415134413.jpg

Found my shelter!

IMG20240415134817.jpg

I spent a couple of hours lying on the ground enjoying the view and the silence around me. Next time I planned on exploring the river at the foot of these mountains. Wish for the chance to come back very soon!

How about you? How and where do you take shelter in this extremely hot weather?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING!

Good for you, ma'am @callmesmile, for getting to that area in Danao City. I wasn't able to come back to that mountain barangay of the City. Maybe soon I'll try to experience the Danasan Eco Adventure Park's adventures again. I hope I could get another discount so I can find my shelter. 😅

Ohh., so they give a discount sir? I must come and visit the park then very soon sir! haha

Kala ko ako lang mahilig solo hiking dto hehe
Pero d ko bet mag hike kpag ganyan ang weather temperature...
Here in HK, it isn't advisable to hike in summer coz in recent years, there were many cases of death incident on mountains due to heat stroke..

Haha., Sorry Miss Jane, ma'y kapareha ka.,

Sobrang addicting yong hiking mapa-solo mn o small group (I don't like big group). Sa province ditu mainit na dn peru kering-keri pa nman yong heat index unlike sa city.

Nakuu., how's the weather pala in HK Miss Jane? I have co-teachers na mag ta-travel sa HK this June, blogger dn cla sa Hive.😊

What a wonderful place to explore, the fresh air and the extreme beauty of the mountains with the warming sun on the head, sounds like my kind of heaven too!

I'm glad to meet people here on Hive who treat mountains as their kind of heaven too!😍

I treat all of Mother Earth's gifts as the precious, priceless things that they are- especially animals and the natural environment.

I wish more people like you do would too.

Stunning vista well worth the hike up the hill to view the mountains.

Hiking during early morning or late afternoon during hot days one finds it easier than under midday sun.

Views like this make every effort worthwhile!

@tipu curate

Absolutely Ma'am! It's amazing how the beautiful and majestic views of the mountain melt the weariness away and beat the scorching heat of the sun during the hike. Hehe.

I plan to go back there next time as early as 5:00 AM so I can trek the river on the mountain's foot Ma'am.

Have a beautiful day Maam!🍃
