Hello @oscurity, @nelinoeva, and all friends of the Amazing Nature community. This post is about insects that I found in the rice fields. When I found this insect was on the leaves of a plant. However, do not know the type of insect. I just spontaneously took a photo with a smartphone camera, because seeing the color of the insect was so unique. With a slightly shiny dark blue-black color that makes these insects look so beautiful.
Insects can be interpreted as an animal whose body parts are divided into three different parts, including the head, thorax and abdomen. Insects are one of the oldest animals that have occupied the earth long before humans or other animals existed. Examples that include types of insects, namely butterflies, crickets, grasshoppers, beetles, ants, flies, and many more.
One of the functions of insects is that they eat mosquitoes and insects that harm plants. Also involved in pollinating fruit and vegetables, as well as breaking down waste. And some of them don't look 'terrible' anymore, if one looks closely. In addition there are also insects that have benefits for humans, namely as a source of various types of drugs, a source of protein that is widely consumed by humans, and is an important part in the food chain. The soft and strong material of human clothing, such as silk, is the product of insects.

Amazing insect, I like color but it looks like it's some kind of smelly beetle
When I took the photo there was no smell. Maybe if I hold the insect, then it will smell.
