Today I bring you with me to the most important Italian Beekeeping Fair. It is called "Apimell" and takes place every year in Piacenza, in the Emilia-Romagna region (North Italy).
The Fair is the point of reference for all beekeepers and enthusiasts of the world of bees. In fact, here you can find all the materials needed to start the honey production business:
- Craft equipment to set up an apiary;
- Work clothes such as beekeeper suits of all sizes and for all genders;
- Machinery for honey extraction and packaging;
- New technologies that improve the efficiency of honey production and the health of bee families such as technological hives;
- Etc; …

Oggi vi porto con me alla più importante fiera italiana sull’apicoltura. Si chiama “Apimell” e si svolge ogni anno a Piacenza, nella regione Emilia-Romagna.
La Fiera è il punto di riferimento per tutti gli apicoltori e gli appassionati del mondo delle api. Infatti, qui si possono trovare tutti i materiali necessari per iniziare l’attività di produzione del miele:
- Attrezzature artigianali per allestire un apiario;
- Vestiti da lavoro come tute da apicoltore di ogni taglia e per tutti i generi;
- Macchinari per la smielatura e il confezionamento del miele;
- Nuove tecnologie che migliorano l’efficienza di produzione del miele e la salute delle famiglie di api come le arnie tecnologiche;
- Etc; …

The Fair is also very interesting for simple consumers, as many types of Italian and foreign honey can be tasted. Beekeepers are very happy to promote their business by providing free tastings and explaining their work.
Apimell lasts 3 days and numerous events are planned in the morning and afternoon, including training courses and interviews with beekeeping experts.
I particularly liked the part dedicated to artistic creations, i.e. small works of art made with raw beeswax such as candles, paintings and furnishing objects.

La Fiera è molto interessante anche per i semplici consumatori, in quanto si possono assaggiare tantissime tipologie di miele italiano e straniero. Gli apicoltori sono molto contenti di promuovere la loro attività fornendo delle degustazioni gratuite e spiegando il proprio lavoro.
Apimell dura 3 giorni e sono previsti numerosi eventi alla mattina e al pomeriggio, tra cui corsi di formazione e interviste agli esperti di apicoltura.
Mi è piaciuta particolarmente la parte dedicata alle creazioni artistiche, ovvero piccole opere d’arte realizzate con la cera d’api grezza come candele, quadri e oggetti d’arredo.
Spero vi piaccia questa immersione nel mondo dell’apicoltura!
