Rainwater: A Lifesaver

Untitled design (1).png

Everybody in our village is hoping for the rain to come. YES! Yeeheey! Finally, it rains. The rainwater is our lifesaver. It waters the plants. The rain cools down the temperature in our atmosphere. It gives water to use and drink to humankind and other animal organisms.

Our Nature is truly amazing, and how life could be without it. It provides everything such as water, foods, oxygen, and shelter, and the only favor that our natural environment ask to everybody in return is to give care, respect, value, and importance of the natures that surrounds us. Our ecosystem protected us and supplied our needs. It is also the reason behind life and survival.

I keep watching our plants and the rain on our window

My heart jumped due to happiness when I look at the window and started to see the raindrops touching the leaves of the plants and dropping off on the ground.

My Red Jungle Flame Flower is Flourishing beneath the rain. It is also commonly called Santan Flower in my country, Philippines.

When I was young, my cousins and I used it as a bracelet. We connect and form the flowers into a flower bracelet. We also sip its sap from its buds.

Thank you, Mother Earth, for the rain. Thank you for giving us everything we need.

The Raindrops are flowing on the leaves of my ornamental plants.

At last, after so many months of drought, finally it rains. It started to rain last Friday morning, May 24, 2024, until now. I observed that the plants are recovering and started to shine.

My Unique Brown Fortune Plant

It is almost three months that it does not rain in our place. The soil is so dry and crack up.

Some of the water sources in our area are also drying. The river is getting shallow. The mud stall for the carabao also dried up. There is less water in the groundwater reservoir.

I love watching the raindrops on my Pink Caladium

There is a shortage of fresh water in our hometown for not raining for almost three months. Some of the vegetables, ornamental plants, and flowers died, as well as some of the fruit trees specifically the bananas and newly grown fruit trees. Most of the trees in our village are dying.

There is no water flowing in our faucets during daytime, and we need to wait late at night just to be able to collect water to wash the dishes, wash the dirty clothes, have water to use for cooking, for bathing, to water the plants, and clean fresh water to drink for our livestock.

I am so sad watching my banana plants collapsed on the ground after almost three months of drought.

I have a lot of banana plants in my yard. However, almost all of them breakdown to the ground because of the lose of water in its stem because of too much heat in the surroundings. I wish my banana plants able to wait longer for the rain.

The soil is now wet after a months of drought.

I enjoyed watching the water dropping from the stem, leaves, and bud of Hibiscus Flower. It is commonly called in our country as Gumamela flower.

For me, the raindrops on the leaves of the plants symbolizes HOPE for the plants and for everyone.

The leaves of the plant started to turn into yellow color due to a longer exposure to a very high temperature.

I am so grateful that it is now raining because it makes the plants glow.

That would be all. I am so happy that it is now raining in our place. The trees, flowers, vegetables, and other plants in our surroundings are now recovering, and the farmers will no longer have a hard time in collecting water for the farm. Thank you for reading my blog and for having my back. Take care.

Very true Ma'am @selflessgem for almost three months of drought, finally it rains. Most of our bananas collapsed.
