11 Years Old Herbarium

in WE ARE MOVING3 years ago (edited)

When I joined the community Amazing Nature I remembered that I still keep my herbarium that I made in elementary school for biology classes.

This herbarium is 11 years old and I have to admit that I haven't browsed it since then. All plants and leaves that were pressed were collected in May 2010 (I wrote down the dates when each plant or leaf was picked on each sheet). Let me show you my collection and what I found in my area.🌿

On left photo it is daisy 🌼(Bellis perennis) which belongs to the Asteraceae family and on the right one it is cherry tree leaves 🍒 (latin Prunus Cerasus) which belongs to the Rosacea family. A lot of grassy areas around my building are covered with white diasies in the spring, but also I have a few cherry trees in front of the building so it was not difficult to collect their leaves.

🌱1st pic - Hazelnut (Corylus avellana) belongs to the Betulaceae family. I took it from grandmum's garden.

🌱2nd pic - Maple (Acer) belong to the Sapindaceae family.

🌱3rd pic - I don't know the name of this plant (if you recognize the plant, please write me its name in the comment) and the only information I have entered in my herbarium is the location where I found it - the forest.

🌱1st pic - Dill (Anethum graveolens) belongs to the Apiaceae family. I found it next to the road but my grandmother also have it in her garden. We sometimes use it as a spice in certain dishes to add some flavor.

🌱2nd pic - Mulberry (Morus) belongs to the Moraceae family. Some people have a mulberry tree in front of their houses but I picked it from the tree located in school yard.

🌱3rd pic - Cypress (Cupressus) belongs to the Cupressaceae family and my granny have two cypress trees in front of her house. When I was a kid I often picked berries, play and making "food" from them.

🌱1st pic - Acacia (Robinia pseudoacacia) belongs to the Fabaceae family. I picked it from the tree locate in the park in front of my elementary school.

🌱2nd pic - Apple (Malus domestica) belongs to the Rosaceae family. I picked it from the tree locate in front of my building.

🌱3rd pic - Walnut (Juglans) belongs to the Juglandaceae family and my granny have a huge walnut tree in front of her house. Every year we collect falling walnuts and make cakes with walnuts or sell it. But... I'm not big fan of that ingredient and I prefer hazelnut to walnuts.

🌱1st pic - Birch (Betula) belongs to the Betulaceae family. In front of my building there are a lot of birch trees where we were climbed as a children.

🌱2nd pic - Lilac (Syringa) belongs to the Oleaceae family. Just imagine how I enjoy while the lilac near my window blooms. That's the reason why spring is my favorite season - all those wonderful blooming scents in the air.

🌱3rd pic - Linden (Tilia) belongs to the Malvaceae family. Another one wonderful blooming scent.

For the end, here's the flowers which I picked from a garden grown by neighbors in front of our building. Unfortunately, the garden today is not as colorful as it was 10 years ago.

🌱1st pic - Marigold (Calendula officinalis) belongs to the Asteraceae family.

🌱2nd pic - I don't know the name of this flower :(

🌱3rd pic - Wild Pansy (Viola Tricolor) belongs to the Violaceae family.
