Greetings friends of #Amazingnature God bless you.
Today I come with a topic that caught my attention a lot. In one of my posts I talked about a cicada that came into my house by accident, then I was very curious about this insect.
I did a little research and it is very surprising their life process insects can live underground for up to 17 years and feed on the sap of tree roots.
Once they surface, they undergo a major transformation by changing their skin into winged adults ready for mating.
Here I show some photographs of its old dry and empty shell, since the insect is without hard parts that is its new shell, this happens two or three times throughout its life.

I think that the sound they make or they make rubbing their legs or is from the abdomen should be investigated! thanks for the post!
Thanks for the support
the sound is produced by the males to call the females by rubbing their vibratory membranes that they have in the abdomen that produce a screeching sound
