Driving though Portuguese countryside you get to see thing all kinds of animals enjoying fresh grass and sun. Most of the time its cows, pigs and sheep.
One of those small dirt roads had them on both sides looking with interest in my direction (as I was looking with interest in theirs... not that I didn't see a sheep before).
Most of the didnt care much about the nosy humans and they just kept munching. It was a warm, early afternoon and nothing better for them to do. They would stay cautious though and would not stay too close to the fence.
After taking dozens of shots (most blurry) we got stuck in a traffic jam.
No hurry sheepsies... hoomans can wait ;)

Aawww those little ones are just cute. Yes a big zoom lens would help.
I encountered that many times here in the mountains of a little inland south Spain. Goats crossing the road and I had to stop till they all were past. It’s fun… and makes you think, about different times.

It's cute to watch...
One time I just parked my classic mini on the other side of the road to watch and grab my phone to photograph. The goats were walking on my side of the road...
So cool! And they have a guardian dog :D

Yes, they had a guard dog and the shepard at the front.
It was great living there. There is a white village in the background. Sedella... I lived there on the right side from it in the countryside for a while. It was pretty cool, driving in the mountains with my mini 😎

Undoubtedly with a lens you would have made images with much higher quality, however, these that you show us look very good
If you want to always have a well-cut lawn, you must have a couple of animals like these, There is no lawn that can resist

I live on the Northern Great Plain in Hungary. The local landscape is similar to the Portuguese countryside. Or at least based on what you showed in this post.
They are. Not many people there, but they do have owners.

Sheep really are quite tranquil creatures, aren't they? There is a "living farm museum" near me that has a number of sheep that are used for wool, with the wool being used for custom textiles. It's really quite neat.
They are cool. Goats too though way more naughty :P
