In the field full of blooming grasses and mostly yellow and white flowers, they are visible from a distance. A strong pop of pink colour. I just could not have missed them.
And again... one of those I would gladly have in a garden (I could actually fill the garden with wild plants only and I'd be a happy camper).
Cistus crispus
It is a perennial bush native to north parts of Africa and southern Europe - the hot and dry places. As you can see here it will grow and look great in a poor soil. It can be found in open spaces where the sun is merciless. And it will do just fine.
The blooming starts after the winter rains in March and will last until July. Then the seeds are produced and most of the leaves (unless it grows in more rainy places) will dry up too. In the late fall they will start to green up again.
The flowers are quite amazing and there is many varieties around. The most common is white and has bigger flowers.
I noticed the petals on all of them have this delicate creases like on fabrics. Reminds me poppy petals as well also with the super delicate texture.
Bushes, pines, grasses and nothing besides that.
You can see how the two types mix with each other.

The wild flowers are simply adorable!
They have another beauty!
They are :D And don't need any care :p
They are everywhere in the south here. Beautiful… we went out last weekend and saw everywhere spring flowers. Thanks for sharing @ewkaw 😊 just love spring.
Yea they are very popular here too. I like them, the flowers are awesome... though I know they are super invasive. Especially the big white ones.
They are beautiful indeed @ewkaw, to bad they are so invasive.
Have a great day further 👋🏻☀️
