Halo nature lovers….this is my first post in amazing nature. Allow me to join the community for the first time and enter the amazing nature contest. I took the picture right next to my house in the morning.
It was an unfertile empty land planted with sawit (oil palms), a type of palm trees with seeds that produce edible palm oil. The first time the “sawits” were cut and we planted with mangoes, the mangoes trees grew but they did not bear fruits. We tried to grow avocado trees, but it just grew and again….there were no fruits. We let the trees just grew. Then we had an idea to make the land better for the trees. We cut the grass on the bushes and put them around the trees. We also added some salt around the coconut trees. The coconut tastes sweeter and have more coconuts.
The mango tree which cannot grow well on the unfertile land.

This is bright morning in my yard. The sunrise and sunset can be clearly seen.
After seeing the sunrise you can enjoy wide view to refresh your eyes.
If you were here, you can breathe fresh air to fulfill your lungs. You can also listen to the birds singing freely on the trees without cages.
We have various kinds of banana trees, too. These trees are surrounded with bushes. We cut the grass in our spare time and use them as natural fertilizer for the plants. In rainy seasons sometimes we see little snakes, which are good because they eat rats. If the snakes do not eat the rats there will be many of them wrecking our belongings or eating our little pets.
I call it little forest because we let the trees grow wild. We don’t interfere too much.
This is the smallest banana tree in our yard. It has to survive from the naughty predator, the ducks. The juicy and sweet banana tree trunk is one of the ducks’ favorite.
Do you see the bananas among the leaves? We are excited to have them right after they are ripe. They tastes sweeter than the bananas sold in the market because they mature naturally.
Next, we have coconut trees with different colour.
This one has yellow coconuts. Actually it’s high. I have to zoom my camera many times to be able to show you the yellow coconuts. If we want to have them we ask for our skilled neighbor to climb the tree and pick the coconuts for us.
This is the coconut tree and they have green colour for the fruits. The children like the young yellow coconut more than the green ones because they taste more sweet.
Then when I look closer the bushes have flowers on it.
Here is kelengkeng (longan) tree nearby the pond.
The kelengkeng (longan) fruits are still green now. I am looking forward to harvest it.
The talas (taro) plant next to the pond. The leave is always dry no matter how much water I pour on it. The water will fall down. It doesn’t stick on it.
The plants that look like grass are actually a plant for herbs and seasoning. I use them mixed with ginger, hot water and brown sugar to refresh my body and to be added in the dishes.
Aha! Cabe rawit (Capsicum frutescens) is a kind of spicy chili. Some people in my place like to eat them with fried tofu or risoles.
This is one of the rare fruit, common guava. We call it jambu kelutuk. It is red and sweet when it ripes.
This is matoa plant from the lychee family. It produces sweet and sour fruits with the shapes similar to lychee.
All of the plants do not yield results at the same time. So we enjoy them in various time. These plants become my mood booster when I come home after working all days at the office in the city.
Thank you nature lovers....for having me in the community and spending your time enjoying my yard.
